Rhinebeck Bank offers plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and move up within the organization. Management is great and so is the culture. Overall a pretty great place to work.

Horrid
Teller (Current Employee) –  New York, NYApril 24, 2018
Please do not apply here if you want to be underpaid and treated unfairly . They pick and chose their favorites . Policies and procedures are never followed unless they want you fired . They make up positions out of the blue without having it posted to let others interview . All high paid staff have all underpaid staff do their dirty work . Most of the high paid staff are very clueless . Technology is probably dated back to the 60’s they finally got updated phones. No advancement unless they like you . They have no HR so if you have a problem with someone or something HR does absolutely nothing . You will not stay anonymous and the whole entire place will know the issue . Dress code is only stressed on some and not everyone . Your yearly raise is horrid even if you worked so hard and earn your branch new customers and new money .
Pros
Hours, sometimes free lunches
Cons
Insurance, managers, structure

There are better opportunities out there
Universal Banker (Current Employee) –  Poughkeepsie, NYApril 2, 2018
This is definitely not a place I would recommend. If management doesn’t like you for whatever reason, regardless of how you actually perform, it’s over. Even though the pay *appears* decent, once the benefits come into play you’re actually losing out. Paid time off is minimal, so if a good work-life balance is important to you, it’s not going to work. If you have something stable already, I suggest you stay where you are or look elsewhere.
Pros
Pay is ok for a local bank
Cons
Management, unsupportive environment, zero work-life balance, outdated tech

If upper management likes you than you are good if not it will not work
office/branch (Former Employee) –  Poughkeepsie, NYMay 16, 2017
Too many responsibilities but no training. You learn from others but they really don't know the jobs and regulations either so you have to just wing it. It's all about sales and meeting your goals. Most of the upper management is not friendly. Work overtime but don't get paid for it. Healthcare is expensive. Pay stinks too.
Pros
Holiday party is free that's it
Cons
Healthcare is high, pay is not, training department is clueless and they train on anything other than how to do your job.

If you are motivated, self-driven, makes no excuses, love to provide positive feedback, be empowered to help the banks' success- than Rhinebeck bank is the place to be! The Management Team is fantastic! The support among colleagues is refreshing, and the work-life balance is terrific. Banking is not an easy business, but being behind a long standing community focused bank makes it easier.
Pros
Reputation, community oriented, strong management team
Cons
Cost of health insurance, needs to be more progressive overall

Given a lot of responsibility and trust. Therefore, I had a lot of hands on experience which allowed for me to learn about an area other than finance.
