Patient Caregiver in Fairfax, VA
on August 30, 2017
A typical day at work would be taking care of patients who are not able to take care of themselves. Wash them clean their house, cook a little meal for them. I learned to appreciate life, and to be patient and more caring I learned to manage my time properly since I had couple clients a day. I met different people with different beliefs and it was fun to learn other cultures The hardest part of the job is that you get to see a lot of people who one were able to do for themselves and now they can't do it anymore The most enjoyable part is that I get to be a part of their all being, taking care of them and making sure that they are comfortable.

Great place to work. I really enjoyed the work to life balance and the atmosphere of the staff. They really do care and want you to succeed. I would recommend this to anyone who loves taking care of others!

I love working at Right At Home, and I love my clients, however there isn't much room for advancement or pay raises and no benefits are offered. It's a great place to start out, and the staff really cares about the caregivers and the clients which is important.

A typical day at work was trying to get shifts covered. Also trying to "fix" and bring the business up to legal operations. Upon entering the office it was like a guessing game, you never know who will be there today. The staff faces changed so much, I never knew who I was supposed to talk to. In the time I was there, the office staff completely changed over 2x within a 6 week period. Rumors are flying about the place closing permanently and currently some of the office staff have very questionable backgrounds, but the company is overlooking that at this time due to workforce shortage. This company does not enforce caregivers to have and maintain valid driver's licenses or insurance on their vehicles while transporting clients. The pay is so low, most can work at McDonald's and make more. The owners tell caregivers goodbye if they request a raise. The companies they partner with to provide in home care are not aware that their participants are not receiving the service that they are paying for. Take my advice and stay away!
