This job was a kick start but a waste of time.
Hard to advance to any desired place in the company due to a lack of communication and the willingness to get things done by management and corporate (everybody has a different story; expect no straight answers). Hours are plentiful especially if you are willing to travel, however there is no sitting allowed, you are standing 9.30 hrs + a day, and there are no breaks. There is no guarantee that the EMR system will be running at full capacity; there is often confliction due to the failing parallel software between the desktops and the ipads. The billing is shady, the system often does not display the correct copay's and deductibles of the patient's insurance plans. There is often an overhaul of patients due to the combination of walk-ins and patient's that are scheduled every 10-15 minutes. The staff consists of 1 welcome desk, 1 nurse, sometimes a tech, 1 doctor, and a manager that arrives in the middle of the day; average patients seen at least 48-60 a day. The the team that I worked with were awesome that we naturally became like family (expect long lasting relationships). Patients were challenging and often difficult however that is what also kept me going at righttime. It is after all an urgent care.
decent benefits, comradery, and challenging
lack of communication, management, billing, no straight answers, no room for advancement
