Excellent company
Ritchie Bros auctioneers is an excellent, and well-managed company that provides outstanding services and sales and auctions. It's company Focus 14 his well-reviewed and always compliment it for its heavy machine painters.

Very fair work environment
One of the best jobs I’ve had. Enjoyed going to work, meet new people everyday, and received new equipment daily. Was always busy. Very fair work place, made work feel like fun.

Benefits are outstanding
Bending over to take items out of pallets or gaylords is a daily routine and knowledge of a iPad is crucial. Working with customer service to provide information they might need.

It is not a fun place to work.
Wish I could go back in time and not take the job. Every year management and commission package changes. Benefits are okay, but employees are treated like a number.

Great Temp Job for CSR's
Great temp job 4x a year for about 1-2 weeks each time. You work during sales if you are a CSR and the people are cool. It is long hours on the actual sale day. About 11-13 hours. Average shift not on sale day is 8 hours. The week of the sale they provide lunch. Overall a good temp job.

Run for the hills
The amount of backstabbing and “its who you know” is unbelievable in this place. Doesn’t matter how amazing you are at your job (or whether in office or in the yard) eventually you will be targeted, and thrown under a moving bus. Terrible place to work. Unless you’re very good looking and willing to flirt a lot.
Pros
Starts out amazing for first few months
Cons
You’ll be targeted in time. Everyone is.

productive and an enjoyable workplace to be
A typical day at work is when we began to open up and there will be a long line at the gate for people to get in and get there stuff. I've learned a lot while working at this company. I learned to put in data, how to work a diesel truck, and being multi-tasking. The hardest part of the job was having people to slow down when they were approaching the gate and having customers yelling at the front office. workplace culture is friendly and we watch out for one another.

RB bought my company
I had worked for their main competitor Iron Planet for 9 years prior to buy out. Although RB had a loyal culture. their management was stagnant on progress. They had the attitude of " we have always done it this way" despite more efficient means available.

Poor upper management
GM is almost non existent on the floor and fully relies on her Ops Manager to update her on all goings on. His sole goal however is to hire his buddies from previous jobs he has worked and if you get in the way of that by being good at your job he will simply tell her youre not a good fit for the job and you will be fired despite him being stoned during work every day barely able to drive the equipment. Department supervisors are great though which are who you work with 99% of the time.
Pros
Floor level managment is great, good atmosphere most of the time. Easy work overall
Cons
Managment above the individual departments is terrible.

good place if you can manage to fit in. RBA purposely does not hire the highest skilled or experienced resources. They like to hire people that are plyable and mold them into their model.

Great place to work for a few weeks every couple of months. The people are nice amd you learn a good amount of stuff about how auctions work.
Ritchie Bros is a very welcoming environment. You meet knew people and see many things and learn the auction. Its great. They teach you everything you need to know and it is not hard to learn and you get the hang of it very quickly.

Productive, Competitive, Leading the Industry.
A typical day at work as an Equipment Inventory Clerk involves working outdoors checking in heavy equipment and maintaining excellent customer service with the customers. I have learned to be more customer service oriented, and I have a large overview about the heavy equipment used in the industry. Management is strict to the company policy. The workplace culture is relaxed and on task at all times. The hardest part of the job is working outdoors against the weather and also having long hours outdoors constantly walking an average of four miles daily. The most enjoyable part of after auction, everything is relaxed.

The Las Vegas Ritchie Bros.
Great coworkers and lack of management make this an easy job. Worked there for over a year, 40 or more hours a week, with no chance of full-time. All of the managers will try to lift your spirits by informing you of how they worked part-time for 4 years before the company promoted them. The hardest part of the job would be around sale time where you could be working for 14+ days strait. Got to drive a lot of cool equipment, travel and meet some interesting people.
Pros
Coworkers, Travel, Overtime
Cons
Required (unpaid) hour lunch, Management, "This is how it's always been" Mentality
