A good work culture

An underfunded agency doing it's best, Direct support professionals also do case management, which some find to be a lot, but I found it kept me engaged.

Working with groups of people with developmental disabilities

The pay is the only thing that is not as good as it could be, but the reward is, leaving there every day, knowing you’ve made a difference in peoples lives

Cons

Pay

Great coworkers! Wonderful clients!

Good place to work, easy to form friendships with coworkers, but it is a fast pace work environment. Short staff more often than not. There is a lot of trouble shooting, Overall decent place.

Pros

Great clients and coworkers

Understanding Workers

During my Internship i was fortunate to experience the warmness each employee brings to the adults who attend Riverside. It was really amazing to see a company empowering Adults with Disabilities. Being able to be a part of this company for even the short time i did was unforgettable.

Its a job but thats it!

This job is ok. its very relaxed, but they repeatedly run out of materials and lay off the workers just about every other month, This has happened six times so far from December of 2016 to February 2018. It seems to me that management doesn't seem to care that this is happening and doesn't seem to care to address it! These lay offs last at least a month at a time. This isn't working for me. I need something more dependable and reliable! The most enjoyable thing about it is that the coworkers are nice and easy to get along with.

Fun and rewarding work environment

The staff is friendly and supportive, and the organization is very engaged in the art and healthcare community. The hours are 8-4 on weekdays so it is easy to pursue a second job if needed. It is also a very rewarding place to work. It is definitely a great place if you are concerned about burn-out - it won't happen here.

Great Coworkers and Very Rewarding Jpb

Riverside is a very rewarding job if you are pleased of progress people can make. Even though people (clients) who go there have disabilities, many of them have jobs out in the community. On a weekly basis, clients have data which is done as well as a payroll for the work they have produced. At the end of the month, the data is then turned into their advisor, who will see how well they are doing at their goal and if they are doing well they will create a new goal. The clients are very happy at the end of the week regardless of the amount in their paycheck. The main goal of Riverside is to get the clients out into the community so they can learn job skills to work outside in the real world.

Pros

Very Positive Staff, Very Rewarding Job, Decent Benefits

Cons

Not a high enough salary for the amount of work staff does

Inspiring

This company shows you a world, that not many people get a chance to experience. It opens your eyes to the hard ships people face daily. A daily routine would be to great the clients every morning and create a plan for the day, some clients would do outing and other volunteer sites, the entire experience is life changing.

Pros

Clients, Co-workers

Cons

Pay and Growth

A fun and casual environment where all employees work towards the same goal; to improve the lives of the clients we serve

If you are willing to show up and work hard, you will reap the benefits. Staff are there for one reason, to serve developmentally disabled adults by helping improve their lives through life-skill training and employment opportunities within the community. Very rewarding experience.

Pros

Great health, dental, and vacation/sick day benefits, flexible hours

Good work to life balance

Riverside is a good place to work. I have enjoyed my time there. I have added much to my skill set as I have been allowed to adventure on my own. My co-workers are a good hardworking group of people. The most enjoyable part of the job are the smiles I receive on a daily basis from our clients.

Pros

403B, disability, health insurance, bonuses
