Bulk Chemical Truck Driver in Wilmington, NC
on June 21, 2021
My husband has worked or this company for 3 years and it is by far the best, most ethical, family oriented company he has ever worked for. The owners and upper management know their truck drivers by name- they are not merely a number. They strive to keep my husband in well paying loads and bring him home as often as possible for his resets. He drives top of the line equipment. This company has been very good to our family when they didn't have to be.

Very friendly atmosphere, most colleagues are helpful and friendly. Vacation pay is very competitive with one averaging a week's pay. Always someone to smile and say hi to you.

the hardest part of my job is adjusting to the equipment it needs to be in better shape it seems that the vans and tankers need to be looked at more closely and fix the repairs to be road ready.

The word typical does apply for this profession. I start each day with a positive outlook for the task at hand; even though I may not be happy with my destination. I do the job and what I do because I like it. A multitude of information has been learned about hazardous materials and dealing with safety. The management at RDW is top notch,it doesn’t get any better, not only is the task at hand a PRIORITY,the DRIVERS are as well;and the driver will and always has come first .The culture of professionalism and safety start at the top.Robbie himself has always presented himself as a professional with safety ,drivers and equipment top priorities: the open door policy for Robbie isn’t a myth. The toughest part of this job is paperwork; it can be aggravating as well as frustrating: at times the massive amount of manifest can be overwhelming. The proper and legal use of placards can be confusing; but we have a tremendous safety department available at all times. The family, I have always felt like part of the family, never just an employee.

Cutting back on empty miles or pay for them shouldn’t have to drive 1200 miles empty with no pay. Good company out side of that.
