It’s cool

If you wanna work. There’s your opportunity to do so. A lot of people would complain about working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week but you just gotta remember to get some proper rest

Waste of life

Long hours little pay. They have favorites and good ole boy system. Supervisors and dispatch paid more than drivers. Dispatchers are told to be rude and they punish with bad runs.

Pros

They train and healthcare good

Cons

Long hours and forced to speed

Independent driving easy job and good money bit no home life.

If you want to make money then this is the place to be but if you have a family and want to enjoy the simple things in life very rare to have happen but then again the money is rewarding.

Pros

Lots of hours and money

Cons

You're just a number

It’s cool

Only 1 day off. Sometimes management don’t tell you anything you always have to look for work to do on your own. Operating machines is fun tho especially on windy days

This company takes pride in being the best in the business and that is a good thing, but with that comes great sacrifices.

Robertson's Ready Mix in general to me is a great company to work for. It is definitely not perfect. No place is. Before considering working at Robertson's, take a real inventory of your life and circumstances and determine if Robertson's is a good fit for you and your family. If you want to work and make good $$$, there is great opportunity for that here. If you value family time more, this may not be the best choice. If you're a single person with only you as your responsibility, this would be a perfect opportunity to build your life as you see fit financially or otherwise, before starting a family. Limitless opportunities. Overall, with anything in life, it's what you make it. Have a positive attitude and positive will return to you. Have a negative outlook and most days will be a challenge and stressful for you. Ultimately, you're the only one who controls that ....MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU, DON'T LET IT WORK YOU!!Peace and good luck in your endeavors. Robertson's needs good drivers, there's plenty of hours and work here currently!!Driver/Trainer, Robertson's Ready Mix

Pros

Plenty of work, Descent wages, Great low cost health insurance

Cons

Long hours, A lot of night work (good or bad depending on individual)

You can start your driving career here. They get you licensed but you have to sign a 2 year contract. Too many hours. Horrible pay. Get your license and leave after your two years.

If you enjoy not having a personal life, this is for you.

Company does not care about its employees, and they made it clear. When you first sign up they make it seem family oriented, but few months in you figure out the truth. There is no work life balance. If you have a medical/family emergency they will not care, even if it puts you or someone else at risk.

Consistent work and Overtime

Company offers great hours, decent pay, room for advancement, safety bonuses, family picnic with raffles and prizes, they do bbqs for employees at least once a month or have donuts. Your start and end time varies daily and you get your work schedule the night before, its supposed to be out by 6pm but often its 7:30pm by the time the schedule is available. Its long hours during the summer and youre off when it rains. You work 6 days with Sunday off, can work up to 70 hours a week during the busy season. Overall if you are a hard worker you will get the hours you want in order to provide for your family. As with all companies there are great guys to work with and a few that make it difficult.

Pros

Hours, pay

Cons

Short breaks, broke down trucks, inconsistent schedule with little notice

Productive environment but very Demanding

Everything is go go go until a problem occurs then it’s blamed back on you. Very long days with not enough time to rest for next day. You never have a firm schedule , one day you work at 1am - 3pm & and next can be from 6am - 8pm . Tend to only give you 10hrs off between shifts as required by State law but to be honest is not enough.

Pros

Great benefits and lots of overtime (not optional)

Cons

No actual guidelines on breaks and lunches

60 hour work weeks/ 6 days a week

I worked at the redlands plant 3 location. With 10 to 20 overtime almost every week, my paychecks after tax was looking great. Manager's and the co-workers were good people to work with. The reason I quit was because of the very poor life/work balance.

Pros

Most Fridays free lunches, good pay/benefits

Cons

Trucks breaking down on you sometimes which became dangerous.
