Needs better pay

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
If your fresh out of cdl school and want some experience and want to be local this is a great place for you to get your foot in the door. They have ready mix drivers, tanker, and belly dumps double and triples. So really good place for getting experience but the pay could be better. You will make $1200 to $1300 a week. Ot after 40 hours sat Sunday off and sometimes you have to work Saturdays but you can put your name on a off list on a first sign basis.

Pros

Good place to get experience

Cons

Low pay

It’s whatever

Get in and get your license and go somewhere else! Management show’s favoritism, don’t expect to be off at a certain time, forget about being off on Saturdays, and at the end of the day be prepared you might have to take that very last clean up about 50miles away

Management doesn’t care about the workers

It’s not a good place to work. All the trucks are hazardous and the mechanics head mechanic doesn’t want the other mechanics fixing anything. If you write up a truck don’t expect it to be taken care of for a few weeks maybe months.

No work Nd life balance

In this company your treated like a number they don't care about there drivers only that the job gets done. Alot of favoritism so if your not a kiss A . good luck you will always be the last to leave and get the worst jobs while the favorites get round trip to the PW jobs. Nothing is private and if you speak up you will get put on the black list

Only if you need a job

12 hour days every day Monday-Saturday and sometimes needed on Sunday. The pay is pathetic equipment operators start at 17$ per hour and 20 year long employees only making 25$. If you need a job or want to get into heavy equipment operating this might be alright for you.

Pros

operate equipment/lots of hours

Cons

Low pay, benefits, no home life

Used to be a good place to work but management really ruined it

Management is horrible they cut your hours without notice they don't let you know ahead of time and they don't tell you how long it will last then they expect you to stay longer if they need you.

Do no apply

This company is a joke. Management will not communicate with you unless you're doing something wrong. Dispatch plays favorites and will punish you with terrible runs. They are instructed to be rude to drivers. You will work long hours, have no family life and be given no time off. You will beg for holiday time / Saturdays. Even if you give ample notice they will tell you "You need to check to make sure someone else didn't get the day". I have put in for time off weeks in advance only to be told that I was supposed to come in anyway. 6 Day work week. But the work on Saturdays often isn't worth the time to come in. Have had Saturdays where they give me 1 load and sent me home. So you spend 4 - 6 hours on a saturday for a $36 - $50 load. That's assuming they didn't send the whole area to the same plant. Then you'll spend an extra hour + with no pay. You get paid by the load. Unless your truck breaks down. They will encourage you to speed to get an extra load. And well try to force you to go over your hours. They have no clue about federal hour requirements for truckers. This company is pathetic. RUN AWAY!

No life if you have a family forget getting time off.

Honestly miserable company to work for I’m only here because I have to. I have a family but honestly I suggest not working for this company. no set schedule you’re always coming in different time and for the most part you’re always going to other locations to work for the company. You are never at your location which is basically your store or plant. You can come in anywhere from eight at night or nine in the morning your time is always different. You only have one day off Sunday. And you never know what time you’re going to get off. A lot of favoritism

Pros

You have a job

Cons

No brakes. Always in a hurry. Load and go.

Always kept you working

They kept you working, but hard to get time off. Very short handed didn’t want to hire nobody Same guys would call off for the weekends and didn’t show up on Mondays nothing would happen . No chance of advancement unless you were related or maybe new someone.

Great management and work environment

I love going in to work every day. Since my first day of being hired, I felt supported by the management and with a chance to move up in the company.

Decent place to get started

Great place to get ur CDL and train. Pay isn't the best but it's a start. I got my CDL and had to work with a contract. After the contracts complete alot of people move on.

Pros

Great training

Cons

Pays by load

Biggest mistake of my life

Don’t believe anything they tell you in the hiring interview. As a mixer driver you will have no life. If you have a family you won’t raise your kids. The pay rate os low and they don’t pay double time and don’t give you vacation pay when you take your vacation they just give you a annual check on your hire date. Basically to discourage a vacation. You gets texts at 8pm to work at 1am you never know what time your gonna work. This company takes care of the mangers not the drivers. They couldn’t care less about the drivers and it shows every day. 6 day work week

Terrible hours

This is a great place to start at if your new to the field, you will always get the worse schedule and pay when you start here and raises sometimes only happen when a union threat is involved

The hours are there for the taking.

Most of the coworkers are cool and try to help. Management is normal and respectful. Random start times can cause lack of sleep. New drivers usually get the oldest trucks.
