Fun place to work for college-aged people

Working during the week is usually slow, but the weekends provide a busy and fun work environment. Most of the employees are in their twenties and very friendly. The managers are great most of the time, and the food is awesome. That employee discount had me eating most of my meals at Roots.

Management doesn't really care about employees

All employees here are expendable because it's a restaurant in a college town, so the managers don't seem to really care how employees are treated. There's been multiple instances of a manager getting really upset with employees and taking their anger out on them. Also, I gave them my schedule for classes as I'm a student at Ball State University and I have constantly been scheduled at times when I have class no matter how many times I tried to fix this issue. This definitely wasn't the right fit for me. I did learn a lot about serving, however, I didn't appreciate that the restaurant and management as a whole never felt prepared or respectful. The most enjoyable part of working here was definitely coworkers, the rest was brutal.

fun workplace with great co-workers

I have worked for many places before and Roots has the best management, all of the manager want you to make money and succeed. As long as you make your customers happy you will make good money.

Not ready to be open

I was hired to open the restaurant. There were SOP's or guidelines. the schedule was constantly being corrected. Management was constantly in a state of stress and took this out on employees
