Decent pay, wrong attitudes poor management

Indeed Featured review

You can make decent pay here. Low if you count extra hours over 85 every two weeks. Management is horrible parts team is horrible. Seems like this place worries more about their Parts team than their Service team.

Pros

Pto, sick leave good

Cons

Low pay for hours worked, management and parts team

Great companyy. Honest and fair. Room to move up.

Very good company, stable business, i have been with them 26 years and have no complaints. Benefits and pay are excellent. Would recommend a career with Rush to anyone.

Pros

Team players, family feel, good communication, fair work hours

Cons

Some stress due to industry we are in

Management needs work.

Employee retention is low and they don't pay fair wages for your skill set. They don't do merit raises or holiday parties or team building events. If you are an employee that costs money, you don't seem to be as valued as those who make it, like technicians. Once you make yoo much they liquidate your position and either reformat it and replace you, or decide they don't need it at all. Management could be better with work and home life balance. Benefits were expensive, and I was laid off right in the middle of purchasing a house which they knew about and so I lost the house. I was there for 3 years. On the other side, they take time to train you. They have company picnics every other year, not always family friendly. They are good at implementing new methods of improvement for software and processes, and encourage sharing ideas to improve processes.

Pros

Company picnic, training

Cons

Healthcare, pay, upper management, employee relations, work and home balance

Good company

This was a good company. They offer a lot of benefits. Work hours were set so didn't have to worry about working more hours than what you were told about.

Used to be a great place to work

They don't care about you... only the seat you fill. Pay is good, but that's it. If you're salary, they expect you to work more than 40 hours and you're looked down on if you don't

Pros

Pay

Cons

Forced to work company- paid holidays

Terrible workplace

Managers only care about work, not very approachable, standoffish, they are too good to talk to you if you are a regular worker. Coordination with time management is terrible. Frequently making you stay over bc they change timelines every hour. Only pay for what you put in, not what flag hour you’re supposed to get. The “guaranteed”hours are not guaranteed.

Pros

Decent pay if you work harder than normal

Cons

Want you to be in charge of your area, but they don’t let you. Management takes things too personal when it’s only business related, Will not accept two week notice.

Stifling corporate culture

I think things have changed a lot for the better at this company, but the morale was so low I could feel the pit in my stomach every day. Everyone I spoke to complained and did not sound happy. People would bolt out of there at 5 so they say they value work-life balance but the reality was many only cared about punching the clock. I had ridiculous deadlines to meet and worked 10-12 hours a day. Raises were purely cost of living 3%.

Pros

401K matching, benefits

Cons

awful management, no processes or tools for managing workload or willingness to invest in anything.

The management will tell customers & employees whatever they want to hear, a.k.a., liars.

Unrealistic goals. They are overstaffed with underqualifiedmanagers & employees.Managers only interact with employees whenthey need a scape goat to cover their inadequateperformance.

Pros

Good benefits.

Cons

To much emphasis on meeting unobtainable customer requests.

Easy job

Was a driver easy hours, and consistent full time hours, get to go to cool places very little room for growth, people have been there for years and no movement.

Pros

Easy

Cons

No advancement

Fairly productive workplace team work mentality

Over all job experience was not bad but was continually promised a pay raise which i never received. Excuse after excuse until i gave my two weeks, then coincidentally on my way out the door they offered the pay increase was promised for years.

Pros

laid back work environment

Cons

some very disgruntled employees can make the day worse with their garbage attitudes

Horrible for new hires and very unaware of issues

Hired as a Parts Driver but did one day of driving total, mainly warehouse. Was not given a driver to show the routes, went solo on the routes with little to no instructions. Was hours away from the warehouse without knowledge of what to do.

Pros

My tutors and higher ups were very nice, the benefits were nice too.

Cons

Bad operations, management at parts driving was not good.

Not enough work to support flag time

The biggest problem here is they do not get enough work in to support all of their techs being in flag time. You often spend time sitting around asking for the next job. The most recent manager is also not very good at his job and is quick to lose his temper and get short with techs.

Pros

The employees were fun to work with

Cons

Lack of work means lack of pay

Has all the aspects of a dealership workplace

Love the idea and the desired drive of the company benefits package is second to none don't mind being a flat rate mechanic but shouldn't be made to be a warranty clerk when there is salaried employees for that task if you want me to be estimate writer warranty clerk and a mechanic then pay hourly other than this maybe a more experienced and fair shop foreman otherwise good place to work

Pros

Good training plan each employee supplied needed laptop good benefits lapto

Cons

More fair job distribution less holier than thou attitude

company treats employees badly

Not a good place to work. No real concern for employee's. High turn over rate for managers. They do not like to give raise's or bonus's. The company health plan is worthless. The medical plan they have is expensive as well as unusable.

Pros

Nice co-workers

Cons

No raises, Expensive medical plan, no extra's for workers

Never ending work

If you’re a good mechanic and know the automotive world, you can make a killing here. They offer a ton of overtime if you’re willing to work weekends.

Pros

Flexible

Cons

Constant work

All about the company and nothing for the employees

If you want to get screwed out your hours than this place is for you. The tooling and equipment is subpar. They expect you to be productive in a FLAT RATE pay scheme with crappie tooling. Absolutely no accountability. They cater to brown noses and give the quality techs all the warranty jobs with regular back flags on you paycheck. The parts department is all about the walk-in customer and they will pull countermen from the techs to serve walk ins. The management is lacking integrity and all self serving. And to top it off when you give your two week notice the tell you forfeited all accrued sick and vacation pay that would have been paid to you up until the time you gave notice. I

Pros

Free water. Paid weakly.

Cons

Screw mechanics every chance they can

Great company to work for.

Great pay and benefits. Many opportunities for advancement within. You get out of it what you put in. Always felt I was a valued part of the company even though we were a very small location in comparison.

Pros

Good support, pay, benefits and opportunity for advancement

Cons

None

Management staff needs training

No potential for growth- no training opportunities, price gauging, no customer concern only greed. Management staff makes promises that are never kept and no sense of loyalty to employees - typical corporate America but insignificant pay or benefits

Pros

A job

Cons

Above too many to list

Unprofessional

Rush asks that you give them 110% with nothing in return. Promotions and pay raises are not in their vocabulary. Management plays the favorites game.

Overall the turn over in management is a joke in 4yrs had 4 new GM and 6 parys mangers

Stay away if you truly want to grow with a company (STAY AWAY) they didn't care about you or your opinion. They beat you down and then tell you, your not working hard enough. They will write you up without telling you and then start looking for a reason (no matter how small) so they can fire you. And if your sick and need to use your FMLA benefits they make it hard to apply for and when your cleared to return to work the plain out tell you they feel your issue my continue so they FIRE YOU trust me i know 1st hand

Pros

Hours

Cons

Everything else
