Great first job
Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  New York, NYDecember 15, 2016
First job right out of college. Learned a ton about the field and my future career. Not much room for advancement, but that is by design. Plus it is great experience and will help you pursue a job elsewhere where there is room for advancement.
Pros
Very lax, great work/life balance
Cons
Lack of exciting projects

Not a Good Place to Work for an Administrative Professional
Admin Support (Former Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 8, 2016
This company is an extremely challenging place to work if you are an administrative professional. You are required to jump through hoops just to accomplish simple goals. The majority of the tasks that you are pressured to accomplish should be handled by HR, not an admin. Another downside is employees here seem generally unhappy. There is a sense of gloom and trepidation that is palpable. I would say the work/life balance was decent, but I couldn't personally benefit from this because of the intense workload associated with my department. It really depends on the manager you have. My manager was afraid to rock the boat and go against the status quo, so this caused a lot of undue stress on the employees beneath her. Many of the admins currently there are mature and have been with the company since they were out of high school or in their early 20s. I think they have stayed this long because they honestly don't know how great it can be outside of this company. They are rooted where they are and have become complacent. That is unfortunate.
Pros

High turnover of executive management, stressful work environment

Changes all around
Product Mgr promoted to Sr. Product Manager (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 13, 2016
The company lost its brand recognition after numerous acquisitions. There are a lot of changes at senior levels which may be a cause for concern.

Manager (Current Employee) –  New York, NYMay 25, 2016
The staff is young and has a lot of turn around. Pay can seem to low unless you recieve promotions quickly. High expectations are expected with a small staff

Poor Leadership at C-Level executive level
Senior Software Engineer - Application Team Lead (Current Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 13, 2015
High Turnover at C-level executives causes process churn. New policies and reorganizations caused a decrease in excellence of service across many technical support groups.

The employees make the best of poor situations and are rewarded poorly for their efforts. Many projects start and never go anywhere because of poor vision. Other projects are not shut down when they need to resulting in code bloat and white elephants.

CTO turnover causes churn as new technologies and methodologies are enacted to satisfy buzzword bingo players.

The location in NYC is nice, however, the organization tends to focus on the wrong things.
Pros
great location, good work-life balance
Cons
mediocre benefits, poor management

Working with and analyzing large datasets from databases. Creating KPI Dashboard reports. Ad hoc projects.

Improved SQL coding skills

Sub par mid-level management

Kind Coworkers (large age gaps)

Limited software and tools to optimize job functions

NYC Skyline View
Pros
Variety of Food trucks within close proximity

Senior Relationship Manager (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 20, 2015
This company had a nice work/life balance, It has great benefits. However I find the intelligence of people who work there is very much lacking. Mid managers were very subpar quality.

good place to work
Director - Business Analysis (Current Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 25, 2015
Good place with lots of very talented people who have a lot of industry experience and are experts in their areas. Unfortunately, not all groups within the firm are supportive of their employees advancing their careers by promotion or moving to other job roles within the firm. Over time this can lead to staleness in the work. Again this is only the case in some areas of the firm - overall, it is a great place to work.

Business Systems Analyst (Current Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 18, 2015
Good work-life balance (you will never bring work home), but don't expect anyone to really care about their projects. Things move very slowly. Projects take a very long time to complete.

Project Management Associate (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 1, 2015
Company was going through a lot of changes but still great culture. Management is improving. CapIQ always finds a way for their employees to have fun and rewards employees for their hard work. Always a plus.

My typical day
Senior production artist (Former Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 18, 2015
Prior to this job, I was a Macintosh user. I learned the PC and all of its multiple drives. Also as the print world began to diminish and PDfs and HTML were the norm, we were trained on how to properly produce Dreamweaver files in the code, not the designer interface.
Pros
flexibility, on the job training
Cons
the raise process
