Great Company

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
SAP has a great work culture with lots of opportunity. Though with a 100k+ employee company you can feel like a number at times. Managers are great but should take more ownership on developing talent. Many people have left due lack of upward mobility.

Pros

Pay, benefits, flexible work schedule

Supportive Workplace, Employees at Heart of Company

My 2 years at SAP has been great. There is a supportive workplace, and the international network of world-leading experts creates huge opportunities for networking and learning. Some level of bureaucracy and internal politics, especially at leadership level. German-centric culture can make your market unit feel a bit siloed, though the company recognize the need to address this disparity. Understand what they need to do, but execution skills do not necessarily match the vision. Have a great amount of potential, especially with its cloud journey and some of its technologies.

Nice company to work

Nice company to work. Good support from the management. It's like working for any consulting company. Nothing special about SAP America Inc. Pay also same as any other consulting company.

Great company non competitive pay

Great to work, relaxed culture, global exposure but bad pay. Management keeps changing and no clear vision. Growth path can be tricky. Nice coworker, good work life balance.

Very bad! Avoid this place

Sinking ship with poor management at all levels. Lots of politicians, friends and relatives of top management running the firm to ground. There is constant reorganization and random assignment of personnel to vague products that are doomed to failure. Too many instances of scrapping entire products and teams due to poor decision or rather indecisions. So, avoid this place especially if you are located in US

Pros

If you are unfazed by turmoil then you can use it to your advantage

Cons

Poor management and interdepartmental politics

Lost Any Customer Focus They May Have Had

PRO: Terrific team of very hardworking and supportive folks. CONS: - Constant re-structuring / -shuffling of the organization. One every 2 mos of so. - As a result, you cannot keep up with roles & titles or even understanding what people did. - Consultants and interns always fearful of their roles are going away. - It became clear that SAP has stopped focusing on their customers experience and just want to sell as much of their products without ample support post-sale.

Pros

Terrific team of very hardworking and supportive folks.

Cons

Everyone was a temporary employee or an intern so no benefits were provided or time off.

great

SAP is a great place to work. Pay is good and the people are nice to work with. The workload is a lot with little support from management. The campus is beautiful.

Productive and Great WLB

SAP cares about its employees and includes a generous benefits package. It has a great WLB, employee-friendly culture that allows you to work with the top companies in the world.

Great benefits, banal work. Not for me.

Pay and benefits are great at SAP, but I find the work hellish. I’m simultaneously bored out of my mind and chronically overworked. Management doesn’t seem to know what’s going on, goalposts and expectations are vague and constantly moving. Everything is 100x more complicated than it needs to be. If you’re better adapted to the corporate world than I am you may do well at SAP, but this company is a poor fit for me personally. Willing to stomach a pay cut in order to escape ASAP.

Pros

Good pay, looks good on resume, remote work and flexible schedule

Cons

Unfulfilling work, iffy management, generally stuffy/corporate

Good company

SAP is a good company to work for. Good benefits, paid time off, 401K match, and employee stock purchasing plan. SAP pledge to flex shows they understand the meaning of Work - Life balance. Plenty of opportunity internally if you are driven.

SAP is a fabulous company!

People would be lucky to secure a job here. If you can be successful at SAP, I would venture to say you can be successful at any software company. A great company full of great people!

Company has lost focus on being a premier software development company

IT and Security seem to run the company now. As a software engineer, I spend the majority of time dealing with IT/Security related issues which are outside of my control anyway. Also the company is big on change for change's sake internally, constantly forcing new tools just as we've become accustomed to using existing tools. This is all positioned as "cost savings" measurements, however the amount of time cost we invest on adopting to new tools far exceeds any cost savings being gained. And upper management questions why the company is so inefficient.Company mantra of build bridges not silos is the opposite from reality. Most portions of the company are proud of how strongly they've siloed themselves. Also "telling it like it is" - another company mantra will get you in trouble. This has happened to me a few times.

Great, till the new CFO started all the cost cutting and changes like other silicon valley tech companies

What is the best part of working at the company?Very generous to their employees, vacation, bonus, support, volunteering timeWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Constant, constant change. It is not a stable environment and the culture was once very supportive of the employees, and that has changed. New CFO is now going towards all the .com ideals and change as well as layoffs are now a constant, like at Cisco...What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Treat employee's as family WAS the culture, but this is not the norm any longer. North America gets the short end, as layoff's are mainly in North America as the Germans and other Europeans can't be laid off, so all loss of people happens in NA.
