Average Employer
Process Improvement Leader (Current Employee) –  Huntersville, NCFebruary 25, 2018
I worked here 7 years before they closed the Huntersville office. Great individual employees. A good population of the management had been entrenched for a while, they tended to bucket people based on their own ideas as those with 'leadership' potential, verses really being open to doing things new ways.
Pros
depending on the role and projects, there can be travel to europe and asia
Cons
You got to be willing to accept its owned by the Saudi Government, this bring pros and cons.

Great at first then people became unhappy
Finance (Former Employee) –  Pittsfield, MADecember 3, 2017
SABIC used to be a very good place to work, very relaxed and there were a lot of good reasons to go to work every day.It was challenging and the company was making a name in the industy. Then little by little good top management were seeing the changing environment and left for better offers. The ones that stayed, probably should have left also because they were not capable to make rational decisions, along with the Saudi presense. Its a shame as a large part of the workforce has departed.its sad what the company has become what it is
Pros
The people who made the company looked good
Cons
Negative atmosphere created by upper management

Specialist (Former Employee) –  Pittsfield, MANovember 12, 2017
SABIC is a fairly typical corporate environment. Local management was competent. The company was reorganizing its corporate structure but it is a very slow process and there was still a lot of 'good ol boy' network in place especially in Saudi Arabia.
Pros
Excellent compliance culture, Room to do what you want to do
Cons
Unrealistic deadlines from management

Good, Bad and Chaos
Sr. Trade Compliance Analyst (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXOctober 26, 2017
Working for a good company, with bad management, leads to chaos. Some of the people here are wonderful, but others are not. Unfortunately, the ones that are not seem to be in upper management and are seemingly allowed to go un-checked in how they manage and treat people. HR is not helpful.

Management needs to settle down
Sr. Bus. Mgr, Portfolio Management (Current Employee) –  Exeter, NHOctober 16, 2017
Too many restructuring and management changes. If the management would settle down and let the workers work it will improve the output tremendously. There is a lack of confidence that the current structure will last.

SABIC is a large company with deep pockets if you are doing a good job they will do a good job for you. I think management is outside the norm in that they do go above and beyond to keep employees happy.

Good Place to work
Logistics (Current Employee) –  Huntersville, NCAugust 28, 2017
SABIC in Huntersville, NC, was a great place to work. Great Management Team and Benefits. Unfortunately, the office is shutting down and jobs are going to Houston, TX. The company is doing a good job of incentivizing employees to re-locate to Houston, and taking care of employees who choose to stay in Charlotte.
Pros
Great Managers, Good work-life balance
Cons
Re-locating to Houston, Tx

Do not recommend
Consultant (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCJune 12, 2017
Management totally unfit and unqualified to lead anyone.
Management team is lazy and incompetent to say the least.
Company culture is horrible and in disarray.
Rumors of company closing and/or being relocated to Texas have caused people to jump ship like fish out of water, and have been said to have forced people into mental breakdowns, medical leave, etc.
Staff has mentally checked out and is basically just there.

I honestly would not recommend anyone working for this company.
Pros
None.
Cons
All of the above mentioned.

Good Place to Learn something on your Own
Process Analyzer Engineer (Former Employee) –  Industrial AreaMay 3, 2017
My day starts with department meeting with all Analyzers group members which is headed by our department section Head. Everybody provides status of their last day activities and plan for next 2 days. Any notifications received from operation department are also being discussed and works assigned to everybody accordingly. I keep an eye on all analyzers on daily basis with the help of our graphic software WEB21. If I found any major deviation on any analyzers then proper study will be done to find out the reasons of deviations

Large International Company
SAP PM Senior Training Consultant (Current Employee) –  Mount Vernon, INMay 6, 2016
This company is like many other large organizations. It has its inefficiencies and its many pluses. One of the plusses is how it treats its employees. The organization is people friendly and values the safety of its staff, its visitors and its customers. I enjoyed working here and the people were fantastic.
Pros
Employee Focused, Safety First
Cons
Disorganized in some ways.

.learned how to write a report
.learned how to fix and install parts
.learned how to be productive with a teamwork
time management is a must.
the hardest part would be during shutdown in the plant we work hard for 12 hours no matter how good or bad is the weather but at that time we learn much about how to operate the plant, how important and is the teamwork

Very time demanding with low work/life balance
Shift Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Mount Vernon, INMarch 16, 2016
The only good thing about working at SABIC is the pay. They are by far, well above the average in this area. Other than thaqt it is a very time demanding plac eto work with zero work/life balance. It's a very bad rotating shif tschedule that the management will not even look at changing. Starts with a 12 hour evening to begin what normally works out to be a set of seven 12 hour evenings, the you may get one day off before starting a set of six 12 hour midnights. After that it's once again maybe two days off then a set of days that usually gets split between a noraml eight hour day and some 12 hour days. That would be the shift schedule, it's demanding time wise and leaves little time for anything family. The management is a very fluffy much of people that love telling you what they think you need to hear but usually end up doing something totally different that will benefit them and not the shift employees. They do love their fellow day employees and find ways to ensure they keep the status in line.
Pros
Pay
Cons
As listed above
