School Director in North East

Great company, corporate staff very helpful. They want you to take ownership of your location. Can’t say enough good things about this company. The staff is highly motivated because we all love what we do, helping students get into a rewarding new career is very energizing.

The intent of any school “should be” to help the student. How ever profit above all else. As an instructor you get cut on pay when a student doesn’t show up. Instead of being compensated for the time fully blocked out of your day you get 1 hour of pay. When hired I stated what I needed. They said they’d circle back after 90 days. That’s a false hood. Working with students is enjoyable, how ever the range provided is inadequate for any proper training to keep our roads safe for the foreseeable future, as the range isn’t compatible for state tests, and being shared with another company, has zero lines, and is filled with obstacles (fences, rail road track slope's, mobile office, and cars parked where ever they deem appropriate. Also the range has zero services.(running water or bathroom). As a former instructor it took over 60 days for maintenance to even get started. Took three weeks for wipers. And over 120 days for a/c to work in the day cabs.(meaning you and the student in a sweltering truck over 100’ temps outside plus the heat of the truck.) Dealing with the office is like talking in circles. Don’t expect any upfront conversations about anything. Do to the lack and quality of the range, we have been sending students who entrusted in us the values of “Sage” to our competitors. Which is not what students signed up for. They are sold an idea of being tested and trained with us, but that doesn’t happen. Really think three times before accepting any position here(student or employee).

Relaxed work environment I never didn't want to go to work. Great people. Always a new challenge with every student. Working here made me a better driver.

For over 7 years I have had the opportunity to work with some great people at Sage and within its customer base. I have been primarily a corporate trainer for over 1/2 my tenure as an instructor. This position has allowed me to travel all over the U.S. primarily east of the Mississippi river. As a former truck team driver with my wife, she now travels with me.
