As it appears ALL of the current supervisors at Saia in Mounds View (minus the TM) are in house bred having no. Experience at the more successful carriers (I.e. FEDEX FREIGHT, Old DOMINION, XPO), I recommend they actually get Outside training as they don't even come close to the level of excellence the real pros have.
As a former employee of this poorly run hub, I am grateful to have turned away and walked into a new culture that has real integrity and respect .

If there is a line haul manual ( as there is) , the line haul process should not be ABUSED in mounds view mn ( as it WAS) .
The manual clearly said all vacated runs were to be filled within 60 days by a person with greater amount of service time . I was told by the TM two big lies : 1) such a manual does not exist .2) than later told we can do whatever we want .
I am truly thankful to have resigned from mounds view under this environment described above .

Linehaul is very strange. New drivers get better runs sometimes than driver with more seniority. New runs get added, they don't re-bid, new hires come, no re-bid, somebody leaves sick for months, no re-bid. Why I ask?? Extra board drivers get no options based on seniority. Their just told where to run to every day. Never saw seniority mean nothing on a road board like at Saia. Really backwards. Could be changed so easily.

As Driver my suggestions are like the wind, they don't care about no one ideas or suggestions or opinions. Big company like Saia, you cannot use your employees devices to do your job and turn around and FIRED them for using their Devices it's wrong, unfair, unprofessional, and it's Patty.

Treat drivers with respect. Stop hollering and talking to them with such disdain. We want to do a good job, screaming at us doesn't make us want to do a good job.
