this company is more supportive of nurses, management always defended nurses and left you high and dry. the teams and people you meet on unit were amazing! very helpful and sweet. management will pressure you to do certain things. expect you to handle large loads and will be left alone on units with 30+ patients.
Would not recommend this company. Loved the people I worked with and the manager was great. Saint Mary’s is owned by Prime Healthcare. They recently eliminated the maternal child units, displacing over 100 people. We had less than 2 weeks notice and we’re forced into positions without any decision making abilities. It was take it or leave it.
What is the best part of working at the company? Free insurance and it’s a union environment What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Poor leadership. Anyone there can become a supervisor without knowing a thing. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It is very toxic What is a typical day like for you at the company? Filled with repetition
I was a dietary Aide. The management is awful. The pay is awful. They do not care families or family time. You'll work everyday and doubles most days because your so understaffed.
Constant failures to follow staffing contracts and continuously jeopardizing patient safety. Very high turnover of staff due to burn out. Staff that have stayed are very loyal to their coworkers and try their best to support each other. Very sad to see the decline in quality of workplace over the last 3-4 years

Ask about mandatory overtime. Ask about annual raises when was the last raise (so far it’s been three years since they have given a raise, rumor has it they are giving a 3 cent raise this year) and ask how much they give per year.
They ask where do I work, have I ever did this sort of work before, they asked how I liked operating office machines, and they told me later on they hired me because they felt I was nice and genuine. At that time 1999, the employees that I would be working with interviewed me for the job. I lasted until 2012 when every employee (even the CEO) was laid off due to a buy out of the hospital.
