It depends on the role and what you are looking to do in your career. We have many roles/positions/facilities where an employee can progress to a Lead and then to a supervisor or manager. Also we have a variety of sites throughout the state of Michigan where one can grow with the organization especially if they are relocating to those areas.

Answered by Samaritas

Yes for some it is if you are a people person, a lot of good people being served, and you have to love children.

Not a good company to work for terrible management.

As a former employer, I can say that there is growth in this company. Unfortunately those who are hired are not always the best fit for their job. Due to the rapid turn over, Samaritas is often struggling to hire employees fast enough so they promote from within because it is easiest.

Not really, if you are promoted it's because they can't fill the position and they are desperate. So you get it and they will throw in an additional 10 or 15 cents like it's something great and they pay still is low for the position. Managers are not open to new ideas or changes. They say that they are but are not open to any suggestions. You are better off looking for employment at a more stable non profit facility, if you are employed by them be prepared to work another job, you can't live off what they pay and this applies to EVERY position, don't go to any of their facilities they all are ran the same. Low pay, no raises, not receptive to changes, poor management, and disrespectful managers. Read all the reviews before applying!
