If you value your license steer clear.
Nurse (Former Employee) –  Saginaw, MIJanuary 6, 2019
They see you as a problem/threat when you voice your concerns regarding safety for residents and staff. Their main goal is to fill beds not caring about the background of the residents they bring in. Management and HR are incompetent. We rarely had the necessities needed to give basic care to the residents no towels, food, medications or simple wound supplies. There were times when tube feeding lines would have to stay up for 4-5 days at a time! All because someone doesn’t know how to do simple math when ordering supplies. I would not recommend this place for employment or to care for your loved one. It is exactly how the other former employee described it “trying to put lipstick on a pig.”

Due to construction, supplies are distributed to a variety of locations throughout the facility. Doctors, Pharmacy, and management is on call 24/7 for any issues that may arise. In addition to this communication option, Samaritas has a conflict resolution process for any issues that an employee feels they are not getting their concerns resolved.

Not a Good Place
Nursing (Former Employee) –  Saginaw, MISeptember 18, 2018
Not a good place to bring someone for care or to work. Not a very Christian-like home. Management changed and found a reason to terminate long-term employee's from 5 years to 38+ years of employment. Facility is being renovated and nice but the care for the residents is not good. Management is cold and not friendly. Would only take a position if desperate. Benefit costs are high. Cut pension benefits. Workplace culture can be very difficult.
Pros
Health, dental, optical, contributes a small amount to pension. Renovated.
Cons
You will pay a high cost for health, dental, optical. Management is horrible and unfriendly.

Samaritas deserves a chance of stability for a brighter future.
Nurse (Current Employee) –  Cadillac, MIJune 6, 2017
The home overall is nice, clean and some staff are warm and friendly. Some staff seem burned out, complains without a thought of other people listening. Management say they strive for stability but it seems like the turn over is still high. Orientation needs some work and training time should be extended a little longer. This place could stand a chance if the staff stabilized and people focused on giving care instead of who is working harder or not as hard. The most enjoyable part of the job is the residents and some of the families. The hardest part is lack of communication. At the end of the day, hard work, having a purpose and knowing I provided good care to the residents is what makes it rewarding for me. Give Samaritas a chance!
Pros
Pay
Cons
Lack of communication and burned out employees

They do a lot for employees to help you succeed. Feels more like family than team members. The people that live here smile and you know they feel cared for.

Horrible Place To Work
Nurse (Former Employee) –  SaginawJune 22, 2015
This place is horrible to work for! Management is so unprofessional, they yell at their employees and make them feel like like they have no brain or do not know how to make independent decisions. They never want to send these poor sick residents to the hospital when they need proper medical care that they can't provide! The director of nursing always likes to be the one to make the decision whether they can be sent out or not, and she don't even know what is going on with these people! I would NEVER place my loved one in this place! All these people care about is money. This place should be shut down! They can't even pass state survey. Need I say more.
Pros
Coworkers
Cons
Management, no breaks
