Samsung Austin Semiconductors is a great place to have a career. While the work is challenging and stressful, there is ample opportunity to grow in the company.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT REP (Former Employee) –  Coppell, TXOctober 4, 2018
A typical day at work was basically whoever you were friends with on the management team. It has been awhile since I have been employed there so I don't know how it is now, but when I was there it wasn't what I expected and that's all I have to say about that.

Engineer (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXSeptember 22, 2018
In general, Samsung is a great place to work in. The company is fast paced and is constantly changing. The strive to constantly align with HQ can sometime become roadblocks to certain projects. Different departments create their own set of rules which can often lead to preferential treatment.
Pros
Great compensation and benefits
Cons
advancement within the company can be very challenging

National Sales Support/Training Supervisor (Former Employee) –  National USASeptember 21, 2018
Had a role with a lot of visibility. Really enjoyed my work here. Unfortunately, was downsized when they eliminated my role, my responsibilities here set me up for future success.

Level 2 Remote Technical Support (Former Employee) –  Work from homeSeptember 18, 2018
Very open minded and diverse personalities. I loved it because you could be yourself openly, if I had a choice I’d probably work here again after they make changes.

Samsung Austin Semiconductor
Process Engineer (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXSeptember 17, 2018
Typical day would be a 30 meeting in the morning to go over the fabs priorities (manufacturing needs, priorities with the boss). Alot of the unit part jobs is sustaining and making sure the process and equipment is running smoothly. What you can expect is high stress, high pace atmosphere. Workplace culture is still tough because of old and stubborn ideas but the company is doing a lot to improve the work life balance and listening to current employees. Enjoyable part of the job is the perks. The hardest part of the job is the people (not a very warm environment).
Pros
Lunch credits, soccer field, 2 gyms on site

Apprentice (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXSeptember 11, 2018
The culture here sets young people up for success. You are surrounded by intelligent people I have learned more during my three months here than a year of school. I as well have been graciously given a full scholarship through college.

Fun place to work
Senior Engineer (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXSeptember 11, 2018
Busy, comparative, but fun place to work. Most enjoyable par of job was the cross departmental coworking on the various process improvement project. One thing that i would like to point out is a poor and very subjective management from my specific department.

Great Place to work
Senior Manager, Business Development (Current Employee) –  San Jose, CASeptember 7, 2018
Great Place to work. Good colleagues, benefits and pay. Good management, work place culture. Hardest part of job is figuring out which area you want to focus on. Enjoyable part is to see your product on the market.
