Corrupt, Nasty and Incompetent Management
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) –  Hebron, KYMay 16, 2019
The job itself is not bad.
Pay and benefits are decent.
The problem is that a portion of the management team is extremely corrupt, nasty and incompetent. Because of that fact, the employee morale is terrible and the turnover is extreme. I was with the company for many years, however I eventually reached a point where I could no longer stand seeing people treated so poorly. I had to walk away, like so many of my coworkers before me.
Pros

terrible management, long and unpredictable hours

Would avoid ADC unless you've got no other options
Inventory Specialist (Former Employee) –  Hebron, KYApril 29, 2019
The company as a whole is not a terrible place to work; the warehouse (Sandvik Americas Distribution Center, or, Sandvik ADC) is not a great place to work.

There has been awful turmoil at the leadership level for a number of years, mandatory changes to shift schedules, favoritism and nepotism and incompetence across all levels of the white collar work force.

You will not know what time you'll be off until, if you're lucky, an hour before, and often you won't know at all until it's called over the intercom. You will work mandatpry overtime most days, and depending on the time of year you will frequently be forced to work weekends.

If you struggle in any aspect of your job you will not get help. If you have issues personally or professionally with a co-worker, a work process, or equipment you will be heard but not listened to.

There is a chance this could change but the trend has been downward for years now. I would start my search somewhere else first and only circle back if I was desperate.

Rotten Place to Work
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) –  Hebron, KYMarch 26, 2019
The hours are very long with an unknown finish time each night. The warehouse is messy, unorganized, and woefully understaffed. The worst part is the management team which routinely lies, and is completely incompetent. They can’t even order supplies required for the workers to do their jobs. Arguably the biggest problem is the uneven treatment of employees. Terrible workers are rewarded while good ones are punished, terminated, or disrespected.
Pros
Great benefits, 18 hours of PTO

Incompetent management

Friendly workplace. Good upper management with a lot of skills and experience in lean manufacturing and process improvements. Cross training in other departments is a nice benefit.

Had some great benefits if you're paying attention
manucaturing (Former Employee) –  Benton Harbor, MIMarch 21, 2019
Good coworkers collaborative shifts cohesiveness. Often last minute overtime, making it a rough work life balance. Many weekends of work, so when planning a life outside of work becomes a challenge, live more spontaneously! Do a day trip, have a lazy day at a park! There's no way around work so be creative and find a way to make it work. Be GRATEFUL! Live everyday to the fullest. Believe it and you will see it!
Pros
occassional milestone lunches

hot often long hours

Heavy Equipment Repair Technician (Former Employee) –  Chililabombwe under kcmMarch 21, 2019
Good at training the technical personnel and would make follow up to check the improvement.
Advised the technical personnel to work with the manuals when attending to breakdowns regardless of experience and shift

Saw Operator & Material Handler / Lathe Operator (Former Employee) –  Mebane, NC 27302March 7, 2019
The people you work around are great. It's a fast paced environment and quotas have to be met. The leadership isn't the greatest and many don't approved of the direction the company is going in.

Operating Unit Manager (Former Employee) –  Clarks Summit, PA 18411February 19, 2019
Overall great place to work, not perfect but many benefits to working here, relaxed, collaborative culture, yet fast paced and driven to succeed. Swedish company with some of that culture bred through the company. Good training, great safety program, solid managers. Our business unit was one of those which were sold off due to being "non-core". Sandvik will be around for a long time, they adapt very well to changing conditions considering the overall size of the company.

Horrid Place to work
Laborer (Former Employee) –  Brier Hill, PADecember 7, 2018
Wasn't a terrible job but driving 25 minutes for less than Walmart wages isn't the greatest thing in the world.

If enjoy painting walls and painting lines on the ground this is the job for you.
Pros
