Great Employees

Indeed Featured review

SanMar is a great workplace for anyone! They give you all the tools you need as they will hands on train you. The environment is very casual and you don’t have to wear any uniforms or work boots. High opportunities if you fluently speak English/Spanish.

Overstaffed and disorganized.

The upstairs restock room is too cliquey. Too many high school kids part time, shouldn’t work in a warehouse. Moving employees around too much between different departments during the day. No set teams, except receiving and shipping. The putaway and picking processes need fixing.

It's a Job

It pays decently, the people there are nice for the most part, but the job itself is rather depressing. The environment in the warehouse is pretty gloomy. I would not advise working there if you enjoy daylight.

mom I'm scared come pick me up pls

It was OK for the most part, there was just some weird guy who always dressed as Spider man and it made the whole warehouse very, very, very uncomfortable.

Amazing job

SanMar is a great place to work at. Their family values are amazing. The way they work with each other is the way a warehouse should work. Communication is the main thing they have at SanMar.

Working for a company that will just put you down.

First, they like to tell you how much they care about there employees but once your in you are just a body they use and can be easily replaced with someone else. The "family values" they have are to be used against you. Not all supervisers and leads aren't bad but most of them are. Supervisors only try to see the negative unless your one of there favorites. Most new employees dont have a chance here to move up. Some leads here love to help there employees to get the job done which I appreciated the most. And then there is other leads who like to show there power, put you down, complain that you are in need of help, and not help you at all. Other things to note on. No sick days and no vacation time. In order to get a day off in this place you have to work for a whole month. You get 2 hours of PTO every week. So if you ever want to take a week off from this place that would mean you would have to work for 5 months with no call ins, not being late and having the perfect attendance. Dont plan on going on vacation during the holidays either all the higher ups take it off. There is no work and life balance here. Almost everyday there is overtime and sometimes mandatory early starts.

Competitive

You’re competing with everyone else on the warehouse for a weekly bonus. Top 5 employees get a certain percentage, top 10, and top 20. If you go in willing to work fast and compete, this would be a good place for you to work.

Fun place to work for

Fun fast paced production with a very diverse group. Production numbers were obtainable and depending on numbers you would be eligible for a bonus. Advance easily as long as you put in the work and are consistent

Thank you next

Great at first then you’re miserable. The unfairness here is REAL. Gossip is their top priority. Employees come and go all the time so they really don’t care for their workers or the “family values” they claim to have.

You have to be friends with a higher position, to get upper positions. Not your work ethics!

Sucks that I put up with the people in it. But love working there and work was fair, but some management people are not. People there that been there a long time doesn’t treat fairly, like new hire.

Pros

Fast paced environment

SanMar is a good first job. I don't recommend it for a person that is trying to move up and improve. This place gives you good benefits but bad vibes.

Overall review

SanMar is a very stressful place at times, very fast paced, during "peak season" which is September through December, there is mandatory overtime, and they force you to stay an hour over your scheduled time. For the most part, the supervisors are really nice, and will help when needed. They are very welcoming, when you first start. This place is very diverse, with many different cultures. Everyone is mostly respectful towards each other, and will try to help you when needed. They pay is pretty good, and they have good benefits. One of the hardest parts of the job is getting the hang of things, they keep track of how well youre doing, and how fast you are going, as well as how many errors you make throughout the day.

Pros

The wages

Cons

short breaks

Good workplace.

Management treats employees we'll probably because since they promote and hire from within they've worked your job before. Understanding of schedule changes due to college.

Pros

2 15 minute paid breaks plus a not payed lunch.

Cons

Fast paced

fast paced work environment

most people were not very friendly and management for the most part was not very friendly. Many of the people did not speak English and would not make an effort to communicate

Very Easy for a Warehouse

All of the work was mostly dealing with clothing items so it wasn't a difficult or very dangerous job. The employees are treated very well. Company BBQ's are frequent and break room is large and nice.

Good place to work

Sanmar is a good place to work. However the work culture is not too good. There is a lot of gossip always spreading and most of the time it is not true. But the management is helpful.

Boring work place and needs some work

I enjoyed working for SanMar but the job just got to boring for my taste. The work was easy and some people I worked with were extremely rude. Walking around for hours in a warehouse was not my thing, but other people might enjoy it.
