Plenty of work, good pay, terrible health benefits
Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) - Saint Johns, MI - May 7, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorking at the warehouse was fun, and I enjoyed getting to know some of the people there. The pay is above average, but there is a lot of work. Health insurance is expensive and not very good. Many people who work there rely on their spouses for health insurance.

A good and clean store and good customers service
Produce Clerk (Former Employee) - Jackson, MS - May 12, 2022
I use to work at Save A Lot on Bailey Avenue, for a year as a Produce Clerk and I enjoyed working with my co-workers, and treating all the customers with good hospitality, and making it easy to shop in Produce, and the rest of Save A Lot

Overly worked and underpaid
Cashier (Former Employee) - Jackson, MS - May 5, 2022
Too much work loads, but not enough hours or money. Managers have horrible communication skills, and changes rules without notice. Most of all the work is thrown solely on certain store associates, while the office crew and managers are in the office laughing and gossiping.
Pros
You get to meet new people, and brighten your day, by interacting with them, and helping them, and maintaining professionalism throughout their shopping experience
Cons
Very low pay and over worked

Terrible work place
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - 5834 Pulaski avenue - May 4, 2022
They play with your paycheck and give you what they want. They lie on you and are just a terrible company who cares about no one but the money hungry people at the top!

Love the environment
Meat Cutter/Butcher (Current Employee) - Cleveland, OH - April 22, 2022
Great place to be a part of. The days go by so quickly when we are busy. We are cutting quality meats for your family to enjoy. The hours are great if you are a meat cutter also.

Stocker (Former Employee) - Beattyville, KY - April 14, 2022

Mediocre pay.
Inventory/Stock Clerk (Current Employee) - New Orleans, LA - April 13, 2022
With the new boss shipment that comes in is mostly overstock. They don't seem to understand that its a small store and bringing new produce isn't a good idea. Over $100 worth of milk in the garbage per week. There is no real training since its straight forward.

Jobs at Save-A-Lot
AR Credit & Collection Analyst
Credit/Collections Specialist (Former Employee) - Bridgeton, MO - April 11, 2022
If you are looking for work/life balance, DO NOT apply here. It’s a company wide problem. You will be told you have to work many of the company paid holidays when others are off, lots of nights and weekends. You will have NO respect or support from the Credit Manager, and be will be lied to at every opportunity. Small team with BIG problems. For whatever reason, HR and senior management keep overlooking the complaints.
Pros
Company is very progressive
Cons
No work/life balance, doesn’t respect their employees

not worth it
Cashier (Former Employee) - Beaver Falls, PA - April 7, 2022
Pay was extremely low and the place was disgusting, only thing to look forward to was consistent customers. The food that was sold there was gross and outdated meats or returned meats were rewrapped and put back out for sale.

Toxic management
Stocker (Former Employee) - Quincy, IL - April 7, 2022
The manager and other employees plot against certain employees to get them fired and give away positions. Hired on new employees and paid them at a higher rate while also giving them more hours.

Just go kill yourself (metaphorically)
Forklift Operator (Former Employee) - Williamsport, MD - March 27, 2022
These people only care about one thing. The bottom line. You get told work like a dog because that’s the only way to make any real pay. If you get accepted for a different position than order picker it is literally a trial run, the entire time. I applied to a forklift position and given a standard that no forklift operator there could obtain on a regular basis. The company waits until the warehouse is empty and then runs all these tests to find out how long a task will take. Then tells you the employee meet that standard, while everyone else is in the way and slows you down. The work, life balance is horrible. Too tired to do anything after work except eat, shower and sleep.

Good place to work
It's a good place to work. They are flexible with your work schedule and depending on the location have good people to work with. Part time pay is not competitive but full time is

flexible hours but too fast paced
Stocker (Former Employee) - Clearfield, KY - March 24, 2022
For the stocker position they make you do alot of stuff in a short period of time which you can't do unless you're unnaturally fast or have someone to help you (you're not always gonna have someone to help you).
