Welcome to the ghetto
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAApril 26, 2019
Do not work here unless you have done time! They hire their warehouse workers straight out of the ghetto of Sacramento. There is a thug/prison mentality in the night shift and I’ve seen fights during and after shifts. There is drinking and drugs on the job, management turns a blind eye as long as the trucks get loaded but don’t get caught looking at your cell phone or you’ll get suspended. The production standard is crazy fast which is why everyone is on drugs. Also you have to put in 5-10 years on graveyard shift throwing 70 pound cases before you can get a forklift or day shift bid. Definitely a young mans job. Management will stab you in the back and God forbid you get hurt on the job or you will be treated like you are faking it.
Only positive thing I can say is the pay and benefits are really good which is the only thing that kept me there as long as I stayed. Also there is a lot of vacation time and you can call out a lot without consequences. The union was pretty good but there are a lot of politics and gossip involved. Lots of rumors and gossip and a definite high school/prison culture. Expect to work OT on holidays.
Pros
Great pay and benefits, union
Cons
Ghetto culture, long hours, backbreaking work

Can be a difficult place to work
Warehouse order selector (Current Employee) –  Roseville Distribution CenterOctober 18, 2018
Women: The warehouse position pay 24.75 hr. The management has created a production standard that discludes women completely. After almost 30 years of operations there is not a single female warehouse worker that was hired to this facility and has been successful. There are only two female warehouse workers in the facility both of which came from the San Leandro facility after 20 years of service. So they never had to meet the standard.
Pros
Good pay

Monotonous but pays well
Order Selector (Current Employee) –  Roseville, CAMay 18, 2018
Save Mart Distribution Center was at first exciting and full of opportunity, however after a while, the work became very monotonous and dangerous. The company ignored too many issues that caused many employees to become injured and looking for better opportunities was necessary.
Pros
Weekly pay and good retirement plan.
Cons
Too many OSHA vialations unadressed and high injury rate.

Not a bad place for a job, I'd recommend Savemart to anybody who needs a part time job. The pay is ok and most of the coworkers are nice to work with. For the most part Savemart has its ups and downs, but overall it's a nice place to work.

Service Specialist (Current Employee) –  Roseville, CAAugust 15, 2017
Coming into work is okay, you get to go to the timeclock, punch in your 6 digit employee number and a 4 digit pin, then you head off to your department, and you begin your daily tasks. Management is very nice, very forgiving, and it is overall a great place to work. The hardest part of the job is running around constantly, while your'e in the back of the store, janitors closet, or up front. No matter where you are, you have other employees who will help keep you on track.
Pros
10% discount on all items (excluding tobacco, alcohol, etc.
Cons
Short breaks, union sucks, lots of money taken from paycheck, sporadic hours.

Overall a OK place to work
Order Selector (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAMay 14, 2017
This is a great place to work if you don't mind the graveyard shift.

It can be very cold or hot in the warehouse depending on location.
They pay is very nice , also a very lucrative incentive program if you produce 105%+ production on your orders.

Hard to maintain proper lifting form throughout the night
Many people sustain injuries if you stay there over a year.
Pros
Pay, Co workers
Cons
Shift times, Overtime

Fun Work Place
Order Selector (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAMarch 15, 2017
Everyone walks in with a smile on their face. The majority of the individuals walk and talk to each other about sports and every day life events. There are televisions in the break room, vending machines, and ping pong tables.

Everyone wants to know your social life. iv'e been there close to 20 years. theirs a lot of drama as if kids worked there. At times it gets monotonous. Rumors get spread from ear to ear about anything about anyone. I think its time for me to move on..

Temp job
Inventory Control Clerk (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAApril 4, 2014
Worked for 6 months as temp. The rest of the staff was very friendly and my supervisor was always flexible with my hours when a personal issue came up. It was slow at times, but there is plenty to do around the warehouse to keep occupied.

Order Selector (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAJuly 13, 2013
Average working day is around 9 hours while learning all areas of warehouse. Management is okay, but can improve in certain areas. Co workers are great and the hardest part about job is this job isvery physical and you have to have endurance while working. The most enjoyable part of this job is it is steady work and there is always a chance to work overtime.

Great Compensation for Hard Physical Labor and Challenging Fast-Paced Work
Order Selector (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAFebruary 7, 2013
Typical day is clocking in at scheduled time, have a daily crew meeting, get dual pallet-jack and go over safety tests, sign on to my VocalEx System, pull order and build safe sturdy pallets with 100% accuracy, drop pallets off at assigned loading dock door and pull the next order faster than system time required.
I learned how to operate a VocalEx System, Operate a Dual Pallet-Jack, Safety.
Management didnt show much concern for the employee's, displayed poor work ethics, show favoritism unfairly.
My co-workers when working this position kept to themselves and never shown much interest in being team players and helping other fellow co-workers in time of need which stems from poor management.
The hardest parts of this position was the extremely long hours such as 5pm-8am due from staff call-ins and no shows, poor management.
The most enjoyable part was learning new things, be a self-starter and challenging myself on a daily basis and building the nicest most reliable pallets with no damages upon delivery, great pay.
Pros
. great hourly pay rate and benifits.
Cons
poor management, extremely long hours of performing fast paced very physical labor.
