Based on other answers perhaps I was lucky, but it took me only a month from my first interview to my first week of training. The time it can take has to do with clearances and your availability to do the training prior to being hired. If you happen to have an open schedule, should be no problem.

They hire people at their own pace because they procrastinate. You would think with their high turnover they would be better prepared... then again that makes too much sense.
