They hire temporary staff in order not to give benefits as often as possible. When your time is up, they offer you another temp position. *********************************************************

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAJune 5, 2018
Management turn around at Scripps Encinitas was very high. Management showed favoritism and was unprofessional. If someone didn't care for you they would find a way to get rid of someone to the point of spreading lies. 11 employees quit due to poor management since she was hired on.
Cons
no breaks, schedule changed daily

Quantity over quality
Medical assistant/patient service representative (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CAJune 4, 2018
A positive is patient contact and being able to help them get the most out of their visits. The work culture is very stressful, it's quantity over quality. The training on new procedures is lacking and is usually implemented right away. Not having the appropriate training can set one up for failure. Poor support from management.
Pros
great benefits
Cons
information overload (recent change of EHR), a lot of favortism.

Every place has its ups and downs, but overall I love the support for education and health of employees at Scripps. Free opportunities for earning CEs and renewing BLS license.

LVN/Pediatric Nurse - Back Office - From (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CA 92128May 21, 2018
Not much room for advancement. Company prefers to hire outside than promote within. Scripps is not my most recent job. Merrill Gardens at Bankers Hill is.
Pros
Promotes team work
Cons
Lack management involvement with employees

it didnt work out for me
Lead Sterile Processing Technician (Former Employee) –  Rancho Bernardo, CAMay 10, 2018
Although my most recent experience ended poorly, Scripps as an organization is a fine place to work. I had come from a level one trauma center to a same day surgery clinic. the environment at the clinic was unprepared for the level of scrupulous attention to detail that i brought with me. On the upside, on your birthday you get a nice cake.

Work environment is hostile
PSR (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAMay 5, 2018
Cardiology at AMP is the worst. Professional standards are not enforced, leadership are too friendly with their employees, poor boundaries. People say horrible things with patients around. If your coworkers don’t like you, they will be so mean to you. HR won’t fix the problem. We’re supposed to be helping people get well not causing each other to feel worse.
Pros
Benefits, helping people
Cons
Hr, Management, hostility, lack of professionalism and accountability

Patient Accounting Specialist (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CAMay 1, 2018
Scripps has been going through a lot of changes that might be good for the future but affects what they are doing now to staff and employees. We well see where this leads them.
