Nice job
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Edgewood, KY - December 8, 2023
Easy job and friendly coworkers. I also liked how flexible they were, they had cool uniforms but the job had poor benefits and didn't pay enough unfortunately

Decent place to work but pays poorly.
Sr Security Integration Engineer (Current Employee) - Remote - November 8, 2023
As a remote worker, work life balance has been great. I work with a fantastic team and an even better manager. We are fully informed yet don't have to deal with the "office politics". Securitas is overall a great place to work, but pay is below average for the job duties, and "benefits" are expensive compared to competing companies.
Pros
Remote work available
Cons
low pay, expensive healthcare that covers nothing.

Poor management full of disrespectful
Technician (Former Employee) - California - November 4, 2023
The management seems good at first, then the bad behavior coming out after transition, useless meeting, boosting themselves, I have never seen a greedy company like this, they spent $100 for Christmas party the entire 20 people, they pushed and removed talented employee
Pros
No
Cons
It's not good at all find anywhere else

Dead End Career
Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee) - Remote - October 27, 2023
I'll start with the good: great work/life balance, but this is really just for my team. Now for the bad... I've been full time here for over 2 years. I have received two 2.5% pay increases (yearly, but based on a time schedule, so not a year after you were hired). The message is clear; Securitas is not interested in keeping me on long term. I've seen a couple of folks get hired, only to find out Securitas lied (or at the least, withheld information) about the actual job duties. It has been confirmed by my manager that Securitas has no career progress, which means no talk of actual raises or any sort of promotion. I would not recommend working here, find anywhere else that will actually care about your career advancement. Note, I am a software developer.
Pros
I get to work from home, but this is not true across the board
Cons
Poor/no raises, certainly not performance based, You will spend more time in meetings each day than time allowed to actually 'work'

My experience was amazing and I want to go back.
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) - Columbus, OH - September 27, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? I love how management always has your back no matter what, I love the pay and the companies they send you to are very respectable and professional. Securitas is the best security place I've worked. I wish I would've never left. I seriously regret it. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Nothing or than your co-workers not showing up or always showing up late and the supervisors have to work some serious overtime almost everyday because it was required to cover the shifts. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It was peaceful and that means a lot. I left there and worked at another place for 30 days and had a mild heart attack. I should've stayed at Securitas. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Just observing the people, workers coming and going looking for suspicious activities as well as doing rounds through the company to make sure safety rules are being followed and no theft happening. Also to make our presence known. Also it's mostly sitting which was perfect for me.

Was not a positive experience for me for coming back to work after heart attack.
Dispatcher (Former Employee) - Uniontown, OH - September 15, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The job is great , and sense of helping people. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The fact that I had a heart attack two years ago, and we are still working meds and what works for me. I was let go for attendance but that was two hospital admissions and one bad reaction to meds in a year and always had doctors notes. They just didn't care about me as single person. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Management is not the same across the board with all employees. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy, fast, and different each day. Must be ready at all times.

Cool place. Relax
Monitoring Specialist (Current Employee) - Memphis, TN - August 1, 2023
Chill laid back job. Management being managers. Might seem like nitpicking but just letting you know what to do or what’s expected. Answering or calling about alarm signals. Might have to dispatch for FD or PD. Have your own desk and space. Easy easy job.
Pros
Laid back. Quiet. Easy work
Cons
Must work weekends or overtime, check is same regardless of shift if not working both weekends days.

Not productive or fun.
Electronic Security Technician (Current Employee) - Wisconsin - July 20, 2023
Lots of windshield time. Have to drive 2+ hours to get to your first call, then you're made to feel bad for not getting to your first call at 8:30am. The company refuses to replace worn out vehicles. The 2019 RAM Rollerskate I drive now has 171,000 miles on it, and counting. The company won't hire more techs, but keeps acquiring more customers by buying other companies, which means more work and more driving, but don't expect a decent raise. Last "Merit" raise was 75 cents. The parts handling process is a joke. Your truck inventory needs to be accurate, but don't expect help with that. The parts you order are added to your inventory whenever the system feels up to it. The routing is a joke as well. Expect to drive from one corner of the state to the other, waving at your co-worker as you pass them going the other direction. There isn't much planning, preparation, or information shared. Calls are just dumped in your file and you have to figure out what to do with them. Don't expect your manager to sign you up for training classes. I've been asking to get certified on RPS and LENEL for the last few years. Nope. The Team Leader gets to go to all the training classes so he can answer your phone calls when you get stuck working on the junk he just went to class for. This company is just concerned with growing their portfolio, not actually growing the company. The benefits are okay, so I guess that's plus.

Jobs at Securitas Electronic Security
Absolutely no direction at the corporate level
Installation Scheduler (Current Employee) - Rochester, NY - July 19, 2023
The volume of work is insane. The job descriptions say the environment is fast pace. I disagree. It’s complete chaos. You can expect several emails a week about needing to bring in more revenue and that you have to pick up the pace.
Pros
My direct manager is awesome
Cons
Amount of work expected does NOT equal what your are compensated for. Unorganized at the Corp. level

I've had better jobs for more money
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Wooster, OH - June 16, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? It is like your , your own boss , depending what shift you work What is the most stressful part about working at the company? If you work first or second shift it is a total nightmare What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Somewhat friendly , but very I'm not trying to be rude but sort of two faced What is a typical day like for you at the company? Honestly for me I would mostly watch the monitors and do 1 patrol a shift

Great experience
Remote Guarding Officer (Former Employee) - Charlotte, NC - June 7, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Great benefits, the double time 1/2 on holidays and job is very easy. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When answering alarms if they are done incorrectly you will have a meeting with your supervisor about the situation. As long as it doesn’t happen multiple times. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment was good there are very helpful people willing to assist and help you but, Like at every job supervisors have their favorites that they let slide with certain situations.

Disrespectful, prejudice management
Specialist (Former Employee) - Uniontown, OH - May 19, 2023
I don't recommend this company for employment because they seem to care more about business growth than they do about their employees. The grass isn't green because they don't water it. They do have appreciation lunches that not everyone can go to and or eat at. Unfortunately, the appreciation methods they use seem impersonal. Their managers are unprofessional, lack training and respect, and get promotions because of who they're buddy-buddy with or related to. Not a very female forward company, and not enough diversity in leadership roles. Open about political views.
Pros
Employee of the month parking spot...
Cons
Poor leadership, awful morale, prejudice

Fun at first as a tech
Service Technician (Former Employee) - Florida - May 10, 2023
I learned alot and met really interesting people every week while running service calls for S.E.S. Was fun at first and I did enjoy my work at times, but things got a bit manic when they bought Stanley. Quality went out the window all around. NEVER had in person meetings. Very independent solo position. Management and structure left alot to be desired. My former mgr lied on dozens of # related metrics in order to be promoted, AND WAS..to company operational mgr. I went somewhere more enjoyable for work.
Pros
Bankers hours when not on call, van, cell
Cons
Long drives, management

Great Place To Work!
Customer Monitoring Specialist / Dispatcher (Current Employee) - Memphis, TN - May 8, 2023
Low key work environment! Very laid back, not over crowded like my last job! Flexible hours, and great benefits. Everybody is like family here! Securitas is a great company to work for.
Pros
Laid back, chill work environment
Cons
Short breaks

Great company when the management is good
Security Systems Service Technician (Current Employee) - Wilmington, DE - May 2, 2023
Everything was smooth sailing until corporate acquired a company and absorbed their management into the region. Who am I, but a lowly service tech to make recommendations about management though... but I seriously disagree with how the recent acquisitions have been integrated. Aside from that - great place to work. In addition I would add: I am not typically too stressed about the work I'm asked to do. Pay is competitive with the market.

Challenging but fun
Alarm Technician (Former Employee) - Los Angeles County, CA - April 25, 2023
Came in from a field with no experience in the alarm field but still had low voltage experience. Received on the job training and worked on small projects and then worked my way up to harder tasks. Definitely kept things interesting!
