What is a typical day like? I'm applying for an entry level security desk position while in college. How stressful can the job get because I hate jobs that are too fast paced? Does management care if you're on your phone studying during a slow period?

It depends on the site a officer works at. Some sites are very simple others are fast paced and hard work .

Management will ALWAYS care about you being on the phone. They do not pay you to study or play on your phone. They pay you to do a job. With that being said, a quick glance or look up of something should be fine. Just don't get caught. Securitas is a very low key company to work for. Not too fast paced at all. I enjoyed my time there. I highly suggest applying and setting limits to allow you time to study at home.

Where I am stationed it's a no phone policy, but everyone leaves at 5 PM. So You can pretty much study if you want to at that point as long as you get the work done and focus on the customers.

Usually a typical day was fast paced. Non stop on your feet. It depends on which site you are stationed. Some sites you are able to sit most of the shift and do homework or watch the security cameras.
