Lots of challenges, but the company was too political and that reduced the fun of working there. Always had to watch your back. No fun to work there.

Customer Service Representative III (Former Employee) –  Carrollton, TXOctober 25, 2018
Decent place to work but can be very stressful when dealing with the families of inmates. Work-Life balance was very difficult. The structure of the organization was not the best

A great place to be if you want to be pushy and manipulative
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Belgrade, MTOctober 13, 2018
Securus was a frontloaded company. In that they focused all of their attention on making fast money upfront at the expense of residual earnings, costing the reps thousands of dollars a month in income, and millions in profit for the company.

Managers were pushy, often abusive if you didn't use strong arm manipulative techniques to advance the sale.

Toward the end, the main lease underwriter (where we got paid) would withhold payment of commissions and residuals for even a single mistake in the paperwork.
Pros
Paid for motels and some travel costs
Cons
Work environment

Strict Attendance Policy
CSR (Former Employee) –  FLSeptember 3, 2018
Minute late logging on the phone its .5 occurrence and 30 minutes off your check w a write up. Very secure. Can only view the web pages they allow everything else is blocked. No phones allowed. No pens. Pci "compliant". The inmates are treated better than the employees. Management isnt very involved. Turn over rate it probably 80%. Within my first week supervisors were leaving and people were walking out. Its good if you want entry level for your resume. The pay is about $12 per hour. Not enough for the stress of the job. I recommend working elsewhere unless you need work immediately.
Pros
Easy In, health dental vision
Cons
Point system for attendence, PCI compliant, hamster mill

I loved my position helping customers training doesn't really prepare you to start taking calls after all the info you get during training. If you have an issue with management it is ignored

Call Center Representative (Former Employee) –  Plano, TXJuly 28, 2018
Same review as Temp company through which I was hired

If you are disabled and have a Dr written advise and reasons for Disabilty and when eval time comes it is not even considered.

The only thing I can say I learned was that families with inmates They are being ripped off so bad it makes you cry.

Hardest part of the job was for me listening to these families tales of how they are living in poverty just to send money to the inmate.

Support Technician II (Former Employee) –  Knoxville, TNJuly 23, 2018
My experience at Securus was great even though they only brought me on for a month before cutting the rug out from under me. I moved my entire life 800 miles to only have it ripped away from me in a 10 minute meeting about how they are dropping the project.
