Well Tester (Former Employee) –  Odessa, TXJuly 6, 2018
Management along with salary are the biggest problems with this company. Although it is a good opportunity to advance yourself mentally and physically for another company that is willing to invest in their specialists. Co-workers are a big issue also along with the amount of problems between hands.
Pros
Housing paid, gas paid, breaks when needed, guaranteed hours
Cons
Pay, Managment, cost of living at set locations

love the hours, but..
Accounts Payable Processor (Current Employee) –  Gainesville, TXJune 28, 2018
The hours our amazing most of the time, they do require you to do mandatory overtime to finish other peoples work even if you are doing above and beyond already. Management does not take care of issues within the department. Let's some people run the department/run people off, with no punishment.

Crew Leader - Water Transfer Division (Current Employee) –  Williston, NDJune 20, 2018
The quality of work and hours are fine but management does not keep their word when it comes to wage increases and advancement opportunities. The HR department will not give a job reference or verify actual hours worked when requested for a loan inquiry which prevented me from being able to refinance my home.
Pros
Lots of hours
Cons
Management is reactive not proactive.

Water Transfer (Current Employee) –  Chickasha, OKMay 29, 2018
Understaffed requires you to work some 36 -48hr shifts. They won't hire new people. The people are cool people to work for. Just the fact it being so understaffed that there is no 12 on 12 off. Its stay until it's done no matter how long it takes.

Poor management
Shop Manager (Former Employee) –  Keithville, LAApril 26, 2018
Management has no clue on how to run a business. When things go wrong they look for someone to blame . They do not take responsibility for their action. They have no way to track there equipment when it leaves the shop . They do not want to purchase new equipment to replace old and damaged equipment.

Employment cookouts on random days
Accounts Receivable (Current Employee) –  Big Wells, TXApril 16, 2018
A typical day at work come in and enter field tickets turned in by operations into our accounting software. Review and reply to emails, missed phone calls. I've learned how to have patience in a hostile -fast paced environment. Management is available when needed and have questions. This workplace goes up and down nature of business. However uncertain. The hardest part of my job has been working with people set in their ways and not willingly open for change. The most enjoyable part is coming in an office clean and listen to music as you work.
Pros
Listen to music as you work.
Cons
Not enough pay after 5 years of work

Water Transfer (Current Employee) –  Elk City, OKMarch 25, 2018
Good job if your a workaholic. Long late hours for specific crews depending on the driver whether you want to get the overtime or not. If the driver does then apparently so do you. Company is great just wish I could see family more. Trying to get my hand back in at a drilling rig.

It's a cool company
Field and Frac Lead (Former Employee) –  Greeley, COMarch 13, 2018
Select Energy services is a good company to work with, if you are ready to work long hours. The only problem is, you don't get days off except you're sick or it's a family issue or your spouse is pregnant, death in your family, etc.
If you decide to do a " No call, no show" because you're tired, be ready for a write up from a supervisor or the manager and if they like you, it's just a warning.
If you're put on a frac that takes months to complete, you will have to finish that frac or go do lay-out with less hours or else quit.
Sometimes, the manager might begin to get stingy with hours and cut drive time due to shortage of work but overall, the pay is steady and you stand up on those frac tanks and think about your miserable life or chase that pig for how many miles, when it's time to rig down.
Pros
Long hours on some fracs
Cons
Health insurance.
