It was a ok job for learning the concepts of an probation officer. I learned how to deal with various offenders, and I also learned how to present cour cases.

Probation Officer I (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAApril 3, 2018
Overall I learned a lot from this job. Time management, customer service and a lot of useful workplace skills. However, the job description constantly changes and the pay stays the same.

Probation Officer/Court Service Officer (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GADecember 11, 2017
The pay wasn't the best but it was a job to introduce you to the legal world. It was very cut throat and the benefits were terrible. The hours were long

Not worth the Stress
Probation Officer (Current Employee) –  Valdosta, GANovember 2, 2017
The job is not worth the money. The caseloads they give is basically impossible to manage per P.O.
Strict deadlines. The work does not stay at work and starts to affect family life.

Management was flexible for family and personal emergencies. Great Opportunity for those trying to get experience in criminal justice frield.
Probation Officer (Current Employee) –  Valdosta, GAMay 9, 2015
Typical day at work is a fast paced environment with a lot of work to do. The office environment was lax but the clients and caseload was stressful. Due to high churn rate there would be times of even higher stress. There is always something new to learn and plenty of conflict resolution experience. The hardest part about the job was having to deal with a lot of stress most of the time. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to work closely with law enforcement and other agencies towards a common goal.
Pros
On the job training experience most companies wouldn't give.
Cons
Pay is not competitive.

The office is pretty busy and face paced. The co workers are cool and pretty much easy to get alone with. The job requires good time management skills due to the high volume of work.

Probation Officer Aide (Former Employee) –  Brunswick, GAApril 21, 2014
A typical day at work included attending court, counseling defendants and speaking to family's. The hardest part of this job was to be able to speak to a person and not be able to tell them how you felt, but to abide by the law at all times. The most enjoyable part of this job was to see that a person don't make the same mistake in breaking the law and not coming back in the office to see me again

Probation Officer (Former Employee) –  Augusta, GANovember 25, 2012
Good for the experience to build your resume, if you can survive that long. Fast paced environment and poor management skills. Issues are more personal than professional. Low pay, granted little off, and very little room for advancement.
Pros
case management experience
Cons
low pay, no room to advance, no time off, poor management

Only if you really need a job
Probation Officer (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GANovember 17, 2012
This private company really takes advantage of being private. The work is not worth the pay and the time off is little to none. The management at the Atlanta office is poor. The condition of the office is poor. Oh and don't let there be a natural disaster because even if the office closes they make you use your personal leave.

No Overtime, No Raises, Lots of Work
Probation Officer (Current Employee) –  Douglasville, GAOctober 15, 2012
There is a lot of work that is required to do. You must be good at case management and multitasking. You must have good time management skills. Overtime is not allowed without permission from corporate - and it is not likely to be approved. You will rarely get a raise unless your position changes.
