For SAM personnel, an initial drug test is required, which includes submitting a urine sample and breathalyzer . SAM personnel are not subjected to random drug testing(at least from my experience) unless you give them a reason to.

For SAM personnel, the office is highly political. Make friends with the right people and you will be rewarded(whether you are competent or not). Make enemies and management will make your life stressful. Play the game.
