Case Manager in Aloha, OR

Sequoia does try its best to serve the community and their clients. They do not always succeed in doing their best for clinicians. With proper staffing, funding, more equitable/transparent pay, and more effective support for clinicians, Sequoia could be what it wants to be.

It’s so sad to witness all the injustice and lack of support for staff. The turn over rate is high every week they are hiring new staff and it seems like every week some else leaves. The culture here is they will give you as much work possible and pay you the least amount possible. The burnt out it sad to see. You have amazing employees who are doing there best and sad to say they get taken advantage of. I would definitely not recommend this company for the following Lack of training No structure No guidance Poor communication The one thing I do like about the company is you work your own hours. Excellent business culture. Dedicated staff, patient-focused, clean, beautiful surroundings, outdoor break, and lunch areas. The hardest part of the job is the morning and evening commute. The most enjoyable part of the job is how much the clients appreciate SMHC and its long history of caring for the local community's emotional and mental residents.

Sequoia has had its share of ups and downs over the years. When Sequoia’s leadership is healthy, stable, and effective, it can be a place to grow as a clinician. In general, the world of community mental health is quite challenging. For myself, working here was a time of intense stress, poor work-life balance, and being underpaid. Looking back, I spent too many years working here.Unfortunately, the current leadership is extremely unhealthy. Turnover is at an all time high, caseloads are out of control, and there is little to no supervision. Clinical supervisors, as well as therapists, continue to quit due to poor work conditions. There are so many places hiring these days, you deserve to have the support you need, especially if you just got out of graduate school or if you are working toward licensure. It’s heartbreaking that the toxic personalities at the top are affecting the ability to give clients the trauma-informed client-centered care they deserve.Positives: amazing co-workers, paid holidays, and ample PTO.

This company is helping me pay off my student loans, and I have received 1 promotion and 2 raises all in the 1st year of working here!! They offer internships to become LPC or CADC, and ways to move up within the company. Management makes me feel heard, supported, valued and respected.
