True..I was a manger for Neptune..its month to month cut throat! Upper Management treatment of all employees-if they dont sell take all the leads away, if u the manger cant get them to sell then U WILL BE GONE! And this is monthly! Boy do they play favorites and with all the FAULTS and managers that get fired..upper management stays the same..UMMMMMM? Poor poor training! Think three times before saying YES!

Cut throat sales. Sell no matter what. Certain producers favored over others. So-called lead protection is nonexistent. Inconsistent practices. To survive you must be cunning and sometimes conniving. Integrity is one of SCI's four pillars, however, you find yourself in positions of compromise often.
The only concern from marketing manager and above is sales. profit and sales...Sales calls daily and all the managers lie and say they have appointments for next day...to sell...lol...if not...they can't go home! so....they lie!!! we all know it but they want to here that we have appointments so we say we do! if you are not in their realm of favorites, we then you have no job security whatsoever! !!
I you work for Baltimore location expect senior counselors to take half your commissions if your a new counselor. Sales Manager is clueless when it comes to sales. Expect to work seven days 10 hrs and if you miss your quota you will be treatened to be fired. Plus chain of command for grievances there is none. Expect to be immoral an unethical cause you need to do anything to get a sale per Management
It's a good ole boys club. Promotions are based on your ability to join the club. You better be able to out drink your opponent.
Although the demand for funerals and burials is decreasing, SCI continues to push high priced celebrations of life services not recognizing the increased demand for simple cremations with smaller memorial services created by the family and friends.
No knowledge of the internet - SCI locations come at the middle to bottom of list when googled.
While competitors recognize the changing demand as evident by renaming to "competitor's name crematory and funeral home" SCI continues to utilize "SCI lcation name funeral home and crematory" thus resulting in lost opportunities.

It all depends on who you know. if they bought your families business you get preferential treatment. company values are a farce. it is a market by market culture that is determined locally. 80% of the company does not adhere to its own mission statement or value statement.
