Intense, unrelenting, exciting, urgent. You'll never work harder than your first year as an organizer, but the things you'll learn in that year are worth four years of business and communications at a major university. Most people stay within the Organizing Department after probation but there are more local, regular positions for certain people. Again, there is the Organizing Department and there is everything else. The organizing department is known for it's intensity, which will translate to serious street cred in the nonprofit world.
