Security Supervisor in Provo, UT

Best part of the job were the others who were in the same boat. Customers were a mixed bag of fun to difficult to appease. Providing security for groups of people who don’t want or dislike it can make for a bad day or negative experiences. The company was hands off/missing in action. It was management and the others on the ground that made it difficult to walk away.

They pay minimum wage, take advantage of you, expect teens to work 60+hours. Furthermore, you’re reliant on people to switch with you to get breaks, if they’re late then you get no break at all, which happened to me multiple times.

Typically with life guarding all the guards would show up to work an hour early to try and get a good spot on rotations for the day, that was quite annoying for people who lived further out of town. The original management lasted about a two weeks before the owner fired them and took care of things himself. There was no sort of discrimination and we got payed fairly.

Great for an entry level/summer job - teaches hard work to young teenagers in a fun environment. It's had its up and downs over the years and its own problems with management and such, but I recommend it for anyone wanting to give their teenagers a job that will teach them hard work.
