Rewarding place to work with excellent support from leadership.

Featured review

Sevita selected this as a representative review
Sevita is a wonderful company that values their employees. I have been with Sevita for 13 years and hope to continue my career for many more years to come. I am always supported by the leadership and am encouraged to grow and develop my skills. Providing needed services in my community is very rewarding and would recommend Sevita as great place to work.

Pros

Flexible, rewarding, benefits, pay, leaders

Thanks for sharing your experience, we appreciate your review! At Sevita we strive to provide opportunities for career growth and advancement within our company.

I would never apply to work here again

Sevita has potential. But the much higher ups are out of touch and everyone below them suffers. Middle management and lower are kind, helpful and passionate of what they do. The pay is horrible but I think the company tried to make up for it with the horrible benefits and pto. Can’t hire staff because the wages are to low. And low paid salary employees are stuck working the shifts.

Not great

Pay was good, but they didn't implement any consequences for staff sleeping on the job and no call no showing. They took advantage of good workers and did nothing about bad ones.

PBSs are wonderful. Management above PS heartless

No raises. No teamwork from PD or AD. Jobs they are supposed to do rolldown hill to other staff. Heartless won't help. Example house has 3 staff only. Haven't seen AD or PD in months! UPside great PS and other coworkers. PBSs are fun to work with. Truly appreciate everything we do for them.Unlike the company as they claim. Their motto is "we appreciate everything you do" Stay with company only because afraid of what would happen to PBSs if left.

No loyalty to employees

Its a fairly easy job, but the compensation is garbage. I knew I made a mistake choosing to work here when my supervisor regularly would go out of his way to mention they don't ever pay much. The ones who stick around have other jobs, or don't actually need a job. The other thing that makes this place insufferable is they have 0 respect for your off time. You have to give them every other weekend to work, then when you're off they will ask you to come in anyway more times than not. And frequently schedule mandatory meetings on your off days, making it no longer an off day.

Pros

Laid back job, fairly easy to do

Cons

Poor pay, poor management, poor scheduling requirements, expected to give way more than you'll ever be compensated for

Poor work environment

All I can say is run, don’t even consider working here. Poor management, lousy supervisors, rude nurses, take their time paying you for your training hours, they practice favoritism towards certain individuals, and the list goes on. Very unprofessional.

They don't pay .

This company kept my paycheck for no reason. Not very professional..they keep your paycheck for some dumb reasons. I we'll never work for this company....They do not pay you....they keep your paycheck.....and tell you that it's for your benefits. When I didn't even get any benefits...

Flexible & Rewarding Workplace

The work environment is very welcoming. I enjoy a lot of flexibility and understanding in my work schedule. The effort I put in to my work is appreciated and recognized by my peers and supervisors.

Ok. Fine.

Its ok. Need more direction. Seems like turnover is very high. I think they need to pay DSPs more and have a clearer understanding of what roles are responsible for.

Toxic Work Environment and Bad Management

You are a body and if you attempt to follow policy and be person-centered they find a way to push you out. They do not like anyone who might know more than them. You are immediately surrounded by people who do not get enough validation and feel the need to prove themselves by being toxic to others. If you are looking for a positive work environment this is not the place.

All in all, Sevita is a mega corporation with mega corporation problems up to an including horrible executive level operations.

What is the best part of working at the company?Below industry average pay, horrible executive level management, no support for new hires, top down management, nepotism, etc., etc. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Lack of support, unpaid OT for administrative staff that are required to be on-call quite frequently. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Extremely negative culture towards anyone coming in from outside of their social circles. What is a typical day like for you at the company? No guidance, and high expectations. Corporate will point fingers at anyone except themselves.

Loved My Job

What is the best part of working at the company? The individuals. Enjoyed my roll as Program Supervisor. Loved my employees also. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Demanding and pushy Upper management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Peaceful most days and a little hectic others What is a typical day like for you at the company?Opened day program, transport,on the floor mostly instead of doing my job. I loved being around everyone instead of in my office. I still got things done as needed for my PS roll.

Horrible

Don’t care too much about staff, and too much drama with coworkers. Everyone talks about each other, and not too much talk about participants. But the daily pay & the participants are a plus.

Pro n con

Like any other job it had its moments, however over all I like working the with the individuals we serve. Down side is if management isn't supportive and backs you up it can be overwhelming.
