Awesome place to work

I have only been here a few months now, but everyone at the company seems to be really nice and professional. I really enjoy working different shifts and different properties, it keeps things fresh. Our vehicles and uniforms are the best I have seen around. So far so good and for sure one of the better companies I have worked for.

A typical Security company with some pros but many cons

SGT claims they put "People First" and that a happy security officer makes the best security officer. Management echos this emphasis by saying they care. But in reality it is no different from other security companies. In reality management only cares about themselves and what the Client wants. It is a buisness after all, and the Client pays the bills. Your interview will consist of a lunch with a Manager or the CEO himself. I did not think it was a very standard interview. Instead of focusing on what skills you have to offer to the company and your work experience, it sounds like more a sales pitch as to why you should join the company. They seems to hire whoever they can get instead of carefully choosing qualified individuals. The CEO means well, and even told me he wanted to make his office a "hang out" spot for his employees complete with videogames and snacks lol.A standard work day for SGT security officer involves patrolling and scanning check points as well as taking hourly photographs of the site. The work itself is fairly easy as long as you aren't lazy. You can expect to work with minimal supervision. As a Supervisor, you will be expected to drive around site to site in a company provided Ford SUV. You will be assigned a beat with designated locations and perform patrols and scan checkpoints as well as checking up on Officers. Depending on which beat you are assigned to you pay have to deal with giving parking tickets and dealing with angry tenants. The Officer pay rate is competitive but not the best in the industry as claimed by them. The Supervisor pay rate -

Pros

Competitive pay, OT available

Cons

Management, work-life balance, terrible sick day and PTO policy

Easy to excel and climb corporate ladder

Very knowledgeable and understanding CEO, great pay, tons of overtime, tons of opportunity to excel and grow your career and experience, supervisor position is very demanding of time and days off as it is still a small growing company. Other than that, the normal guard position is very consistent. Leadership is learning and growing everyday.

Pros

Fast promotions if you work hard. Consistent work and overtime available

Cons

Not very flexible if you want days off or weekends.

A breath of fresh air.

I have worked for many security companies over the past 12 years and most of them have been pretty much the same, but this company has been different since the start. My interview was conducted over lunch with the owner and he paid for it. The uniforms are very comfortable and professional looking. The supervisors are very friendly, I always feel like they care about me. I haven't had any issues with getting paid, which has been a been a pain in the butt issue with some of the other companies I have worked at. It's been about 4 months so far, but I can really see myself working my way up if they'll have me. Highly recommend SGT.

Best security company to work for.

Great company with great leadership. Coworkers are easy to work with. All employees are held with high standards and accountability. Plenty of overtime for those who like the extra hours. A lot of flexibility.

Great place to grow with a patient boss

A typical day at work consists of doing a patrol or two, and an incident report should it come up. Management is fine and the work culture is supportive and they always wants to help you do better.

Pros

Everyone is there to help you. The supervisors, the CEO, other guards. Overall a very supportive and "How can we help you move forward" Environment

Cons

Sometimes a lot can happen throughout the day at work.
