About Shake Shack

Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park (NYC) to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack fans lined up daily for three summers.

Earlier this year, we were named one of the “Best place to work for LGBTQ Equality” and earned a 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2019 Corporate Equality Index, a designation that highlights the core of our ethos here at Shake Shack. We strive to be the best employers and citizens of each neighborhood we call home. Every Shack donates 5% of sales of a specific concrete to a local charity partner, and our Shack Gives Back volunteer program encourages our teams to get involved in causes they feel passionate about—from animal welfare to education—in their communities.

Good Ingredients

We pride ourselves on sourcing incredible ingredients from like-minded ranchers, farmers, bakers and food purveyors. Our burgers are made with 100% all-natural Angus beef—vegetarian fed, humanely raised and source verified. The Chick’n Shack™ is 100% all-natural cage-free chicken. Our flat-top dogs? 100% all-natural Vienna beef. Our fries are crinkle cut Yukon potatoes, with zero artificial ingredients. And our vanilla and chocolate frozen custard recipes use only real sugar, no corn syrup and milk from dairy farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones.
