If you were in charge, what would you do to make Shake Shack a better place to work?
Try not to hire so many teenagers unless you have a strict supervisor/manager to keep them on track
I got an interview 3 days after I submitted the application. Said they'd call or email by Monday but they didn't.
NO Shake Shack does not drug test, but do not take that as an opportunity to share your personal drug stories at work. The environment is very laid back, and the managers have this "as long as you're not doing it on my time or near the restaurant" attitude. However, I have witnessed managers and team members get fired for smoking weed around the restaurant. So keep what you do in your personal life, personal. If you and another employee have shared interest, explore that off the clock and out of the surrounding area. Shake Shack is a big community based restaurant so they keep tabs on what is going on in the neighborhood and if they hear something negative about their employees they will take corrective measures.
Very conversational but professional, they are just looking for friendly people ready to work in a kitchen and play as a team.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Shake Shack? What are the steps along the way?
2 weeks you are given training books. You have to take test. For each job there. You get points for taking test
What would you suggest Shake Shack management do to prevent others from leaving?
Act appropriately and actually treat your employees with respect. Don't play favorites and alienate a section of your team. Westlake Village is a sinking ship and its entirely on the management.
