Not an honest company like they say they are
Nobody cares (Current Employee) –  PaMarch 5, 2018
Drivers get treated badly work way to many hrs sometimes illegaly with hours and being over weight
Training is very slim then expect you to know everything and get held responsible when something does not go right. Absolutely nothing is confidential others will no when somebody gets fire or written up before the actual person does its point and stair at the person
Money is ok but no respect not unless you kiss up and who wants to do that it's not worth it
A big run around throught out the day new York then to Maryland than back north
Cause they take in to much that they can handle, way to much
Cons
Not a trustworthy company

fun place to work
Independent contractor (Former Employee) –  Carlstadt, NJDecember 4, 2017
Hardest part of the job would be been in traffic while having an on time delivery. The company would call you thousands of times, which if you did not reply you get in trouble.

The most enjoyable part was the team work and the dispatchers, every one would be cool everyone had fun working for Shawnee.

A typical day at work would be going in to work signing your name on the list and wait around till a dispatcher calls your name to make the delivery. in the meantime you sit around and watch tv.
Pros
free coffee and water.
Cons
rushed deliveries lots of traffic.

At shawnee trucking, the work environment is relaxed and easy going. Delivering packages were easy if you know your way around New York City. Breaks came often.
Pros
fun workplace

They talked a great talk no doubt the company is very family oriented each driver is dealt with differently and I can see the dispatchers are as well you often wonder who is in charge. They get good help drivers, etc but cannot keep due to their click. They could be making more $$$$$ on backhauls rather than bobtailing us all the time. Dispatch said used to be a lot busier I can see why they are not. Another thing I noticed there is no confidentiality in the Pennsylvania office...A dispatcher was telling other drivers who got wrote up & who got fired. Not cool. They need refreshed on the HIPAA policy. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
Pros
Paid for full day
Cons
Too many chiefs not enough Indians.

It seems the harder you work, the less they notice it. Great people though and they understand your situations. For a raise, its really hard.
