Great place to work as all employees believe in and are dedicated to our mission to provide end of life care to anyone in need, insured or not. There is also a vast amount of community support for our organization.

Haven't been here but a few months but I really love working here. All staff & supervisors have been so helpful & patient during my training & transition. Just like any other job there are bad, stressful days but there is always someone to help & listen. It is so much more than just a job, it is a great mission & I thank the Good Lord for placing me here.

I have been with Shepherd's Cove Hospice for 10 years. We are a team. We work together and play together. We lift each other up and carry each other's burdens. We are family. Every one has different work ethics. If you do your job with a good attitude and strive to do your best and deticate yourself to the care of our patients and their families then there is room for promotion. Our Patients are our number one priority and we take pride in serving them. .

Honestly this is the best place I have worked. I have some of the most positive and uplifting coworkers. There is a true sense of family among my coworkers. Everyone has been welcoming, supportive and helpful. Coworkers are great to step in and help when things get busy so no one feels stranded or overwhelmed, to help teach new skills, and to make sure all patients are taken care of. It's a positive work environment, management recognizes and congratulates you on your successes while asking what they can do to help you with your job. The hours for on call work really well with my son and family life, I love that I get to do the stay at home mom life during the day with my child, yet still get to work and not feel like I'm missing out. I feel valued and respected, and definitely see myself working here for a long long time to come. I also appreciate the fact that the vast majority of management and Leadership, including the CEO, are nurses, so they fully understand the challenges you face.
Bereavement Social Worker in Albertville, AL

A typical work day can be expected to be fast paced from start to finish. Working in the medical field, especially in the hospice realm, one has to expect their day to change from how they may "plan", but management is supportive in trying to help in whatever way possible. Workers are allowed flexibility to be the type of worker they want to be. Not a great deal of micromanagement from management. The trust in knowing the workers are professional and focused enough to get their job complete to the best of their abilities is one of the best attributes of the whole management. If one is struggling with work load or just emotionally from loosing a patient, support and help is there. One of hardest parts of the job is knowing your time with families and patients may be short, but this has the opportunity to instill the importance of doing the job right the first time. Another difficult part is documentation, but again, working in the medical field, this will always be a trouble part. However, Shepherd's Cove has taken STRIDES to help with the struggles of documentation in the 11 years I have been here. The most enjoyable part of my jobs are almost too much to type. The people I have met throughout my time here has greatly enriched my life for the better. The failures I have had have only grown me as a professional and person. I have a work family I know that cares about me and wants nothing but the best for me. I dreamed of working for Shepherd's Cove when I was a youngster and now I honestly can't imagine working anywhere else.
