Honestly, I would leave because of 3 reasons. One, the customers especially the contractors are the worse customers I've ever dealt with in the 4 years I've worked retail especially if you are new. The contractors are never really patient with you if you are new and trying to learn and makes the job incredibly fustrating and hard to learn fast when the automatically ask for a manager before you even try to help them. 2nd reason, always short staffed and because of that it's really easy to feel overworked and overwhelmed when in situations by yourself and 3rd, management.
