Lack of respect by my manager. I’m an assistant manager and he treats me like a part-timer. Doesn’t let me do any of management responsibilities like scheduling, ordering supplies, etc. Manager doesn’t approve of me taking any personal/vacation days more than 2 days in a row. Criticized for two weeks after taking a sick day. Understaffed his off days. Makes me work every Saturday alone and threatens to write me up if all the pallets from truck freight aren’t put away that day no matter how busy it gets. If my hours are maxed out for th me week. Only tells me to do tasks such as putting away truck freight, trash, and break down boxes, while he asks other employees and part timers to take orders and tint paint. He expects me to work off the clock if work isn’t finished because “thst is being part of management.” When I come in for my shift, every single shift we work together, before I even take my jacket off and settle in, he starts rapid firing me questions asking me questions such as “why did you do this?” Why didn’t you do that?”
The list of why I would quit can go on and on. We all at the store think he is self centered and extremely uptight. One person quit and one person got “fired” because of him. Another quitting shortly. The job experiences ultimately depends on the manager in my opinion. I’m going to try and transfer before quitting.

Regular store: If you’re in management, it could be as little as 7 hrs or 12 hrs and 15 mins(for example doing open to close 6:45am to 7pm). When your store is extremely short staffed you could end doing open to close 3 days in a row with no help from other stores and since there is no lunch break, you have to eat quickly when there’s no customers in the store

It depenss on the store, for example the eastchester ny store was the best store I worked at because the store manager was flexible, super nice and properly staffed the store. The peekskill ny store was the worst, you worked by yourself a lot and had to do a lot of work on your own with little help from other stores in the ny capital district
