Shift has gone through some significant changes on its way to becoming the place it is today. The organization has exceptional benefits and quite a generous leave policy, especially for a company of this size. Lots of room to learn and grow as the organization's portfolio of projects expands. Ongoing opportunities to provide input and shape the work and the organization. The leadership prioritized the health and safety of the team during the Covid crisis, embracing flexible work schedules that acknowledge that everyone is managing a lot right now.Shift is still a small company that is relatively young which comes with some specific challenges around systems and structures, but many of those have improved over the past year.Keep up the good work-the investments you have made are helping you make your intentions a reality. The org culture work and coaching with CoCreate Work have been powerful and you are on the right track.
Pros
Outstanding benefits for any size organization, let alone one this small.
Cons
It is important to know it is a startup, growing and adapting and improving.

Getting better all the time

Big ideas coupled with a willingness to change and reflect. A culture of acceptance and flexibility. Wonderful life/work balance. Meaningful work. Ample opportunities for personal and professional development. Work from home and very generous benefits and PTO.
Pros
Work/life balance, meaningful work, kind partners and co-workers, generous benefits, flexible culture, big change in the world
Cons
Occasionally ambiguous foresight into new work, but this seems to be improving.

Not a healthy place to work unless you are white

If you are a person of color, look elsewhere. If you like able management, keep going. If you want a company’s internal values and external values to align, find another company. I have never work somewhere that tokenized people of color as much as this place. I have also never worked somewhere no real reporting structure or clarity of roles.
