No the clients are not checked. I once delivered late at night to a person at a behavioral health facility specializing in drug rehab out in the middle of nowhere. I thought I was delivering to someones house in the country. To be honest. That has been the only order I have ever taken that made me nervous
If you don’t feel safe about the area don’t take the order or just don’t schedule yourself for that area. Even if your not on the schedule you can still take orders. This way it won’t affect your percentage rate in a negative way. I have a zero. I just stop scheduling myself.
They do a very in depth backround check and screening on ALL SHOPPERS.
They still hire felons. I didn’t know about this until I found out a shopper was one.
The customers aren’t screened but it’s assumed that a criminal won’t pay for a Shipt membership (and give out their name, credit card info, address, etc.) just so they can find a victim. To my knowledge there have never been any incidents of crime against a shopper.
No, it is assumed by both parties that both are safe.

Yes. We have to go through an application/interview process, background check and training (in person in a new market).

Shoppers go through a background check and provide a photograph that the customers see.

No. Shipt takes any customer that will pay for the service. A Shopper will be offered orders in bad neighborhoods even after dark. It's up to you not to schedule yourself in these areas or not to accept the order. If you don't accept orders, your performance Stas will get penalized however, so better just to learn which areas are safe.
Yes, thexactly people who apply must be cleared from a background check.
