You work your tale off in this company and get paid less doing so. At first I thought the hours were good than they want you to work 6 days evey weekend coworkers I found was extremely lazy and supervision only cared how many minutes you take a break they have no respect for your feelings too strict for no reason some get away with things others don't.
You get to eat what you want for a price
Your breaks are relevant than your work
Almost everything about ShopRite is awful. The management, the benefits, the environment, all awful. They hire you in as “part time” but load you in with lots of hours(which I have no problem with). The problem with it is they do this so they dont need to give you any benefits. The only people who are considered full time are department managers and people who have been with the company for many, many years. Its not fair at all. Store Management are so quick to cut your hours, or lie to your face to get you to move to a different department that is in need when you are not comfortable with it. They shame anyone who has piercings, colored hair, etc. They make hour cuts mid week after the schedule had already been published!! Did I mention you get ZERO discounts on products. The only time you will get a discount is near Christmas for a one time *10% OFF* your order. So basically, avoid working here unless you are super part time or in school.
You can usually get days off if you request them in time.
Poor management, no discounts, no free time
When I started here as a kid in 1986 the benefits where great, pay great and advancement was very possible. I worked here 7 years and came Frozen Food Manager at that time was making 19 an hour and left because I had to move. I was offered this time a second man position at only $15 an hour, no way am I taken that for such a low rate. I now looked on benefits and it's ridiculous. Before they offered a pension plan after 5 years x 45.00 a year max out at 30 years not bad. Now they offer you a $150 a month max like that is awful and the union agreed to this? I also looked on the hospital and dental plans also terrible now. What ever happened to the union? Why even have a union with garbage like this?
I worked here for about a year. Most of my coworkers were nice, but some acted like they were in charge of the whole place which was really annoying. Management was so so, but overall they were pretty biased and disrespectful. Days off weren’t guaranteed and If a particular manager didn’t like you they would cut your hours as retaliation. Everything is based on seniority, you don’t even get time and a half on major holidays unless you worked there for atleast 2-3 years which is crazy.
What I could say about ShopRite is that it is for sure a fair store, no major complaints for my time being there. The managers do get switched a lot and some are better than others but besides that I would recommend a job there.
Fair Schedule, relatively good hours
Lack of some benefits

Jobs at Shoprite Store
Like most grocery stores, shoprite is good for students to start working part time. The hours are flexible. If you are honest and reasonable with management they will work with you. Work flow is inconsistent due to weather and holiday influences. Pay is decent although employees should be payed higher based on consistent and satisfactory job performance. Some career development.
Fun place to work place easy to understand the task that they ask u to do it has it days they also help you when you have a family problem .They even hire convicted felons so they can get start over
Its got health benfits
As an employee, I had a great working experience. I enjoy working in high-volume establishments. I learned such a great deal and was able to further my knowledge and meet safe-serve requirements. Opportunity to grow was met when I was promoted after hard work and determination. They offer exceptional benefits and if circumstances had stayed the same I definitely would have continued my career with the company.
Working at Shoprite was a horrible experience for me and I would only recommend it if you need the money. They promise paid time off but they don't actually pay you for it. The managers there would monitor your bathroom breaks and you'd get written up if you took longer than 5 minutes. They don't care about their employees and would rather take the customers side of things. They also had very short breaks, only 15 minutes. Sometimes the wait for a podium worker to come and help with coupons or a customer issue would be about 15 to 20 minutes. The registers would constantly break down, which then we would have to take the food off of the conveyor belt and bring all of the food to a working register and then start the order over again and most of the hand scanners didn't work. The only good thing about working there was the weekly pay and the benefits.
