This review is for Sierra Community House after the merger. Top Leadership is definitely lacking crisis intervention training and overall knowledge on not only how to run a bigger agency, but also how to respect and acknowledge their staff. They've recently lost a great deal of employees due to the poor and stressful work environment, attitude, and disrespect for staff. I think that top leaders took in more than they can handle with this merger and now find themselves struggling to keep up with the community. Although this is very sad for the staff that has been working above and beyond to serve the community, at the end it's the victims and survivors of the community that suffer. My unsolicited advice would be to replace top brass and find leadership that is not only trauma informed, but has the courage to make the right decisions when it comes to running a social services agency the correct way. Although it makes me sad to have to write this negative review, it's even sadder to see what once was a great agency become a poor shadow of its former self.

Leadership are down to earth and works at all levels to assist everyone. We also have monthly Social Justice meetings with a safe place to discuss and implement activities/strategies to make our workplace better.

Welcoming, inviting, inclusive, and beyond supportive since day one, and still the same, if not continuing to get better, 4 years later. Excellent work life balance and self care ideology. I could write so much more about how my world shifted after coming to work for this amazing place, but indeed won’t let me. I consider myself so lucky. The only thing that didn’t receive 5 stars from me was on compensation/benefits. Not because they aren’t good. But I wanted to be honest that if your looking to make millions this isn’t the place. I only docked one star because for a Rural Non-profit, they pay really well and have a great benefits package. They are also super upfront and transparent about salary ranges, benefits, and wage step increases.

It’s never a good when the admin and higher ups have better retention then the rest of the staff. Management is lackluster, at best, leadership is something to be desired, pay is little for the workload, and support is nonexistent. There’s no upward mobility, or raises unless determined by the state. Never enough funds, unless your on the admin team. Then you get a nice bonus every year for Christmas.

This organization provides a number of services for the most vulnerable in our community and it is a pleasure to be a part of their mission. Overall the work environment is inclusive and supportive, with a number of training and cross training options, advancement opportunities. Staff is supportive of one another.The benefits are very generous compared to many companies in the immediate area.

It felt more like a conversation than a interview and we even all laughed several times. Don't worry too much, and just come ready to answer honestly and be yourself.

While questions were documented and prepared ahead of time, the questions were specific to the position I was applying to. I would say questions range from asking about skills, previous experience, your knowledge around the organization, goals, to chances for you to provide your own info on yourself, that you think is useful for the interviewees to know. My experience was that I was made to feel very comfortable and the interview felt more like a friendly conversation, even though it was with a panel of three people.
