Long hours and a lot of over time
CNC Operator (Current Employee) - Red Bluff, CA - August 31, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe company pays well but in turn you have no real life. They have a bidding system for new positions but do not always follow the rules they set up for it. Management is not trained very well nor worker friendly.

Great pay, horrible management and supervisors
Forklift Operator (Former Employee) - Quincy, CA - September 16, 2023
Complaints go unheard. They don’t help you if you have a issue. Just sweep it up the rug. Supervisors think just because they supervisors, they cant treat and talk to you any type of way. Some folks do not care enough to actually train you the proper way. A lot of shortcuts are taken. Everything they tell you in orientation is the complete opposite. No cellphone usage, headphone usage or smoking is allowed yet plenty of people do these things and supervisors are not aware or just don’t care enough.
Pros
Pay

Had good potential with poor follow through.
Service Tech / Warehouse Manager (Former Employee) - Rancho Cordova, CA - September 15, 2023
The company had a lot of good potential. They have a good product, and a good team. They struggle with organization and communication. It felt like a blame game the whole time I was there though.
Pros
Good co-workers
Cons
short if any lunches.

Cool place.
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Red Bluff, CA - August 26, 2023
Tough work but the money is good. Good job for people who want a job that promotes from within or want to pay for college. Management is cool too. Understanding.

Awsome
Cashier (Current Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - August 8, 2023
It’s the best I absolutely love it. Managers treat me with great respect and I feel like I’m wanted. The atmosphere is very chill and could not ask for more

Poor managnent
Operator 1 (Former Employee) - Mason County, WA - July 25, 2023
Managment will look to place blame everywhere they can when there numbers start to fall do to making bad calls and not getting machinery fixed properly. Both shifts seem to pass the bad buck back and forth. Y àw we 77e1

It's a paycheck
Machine Operator (Current Employee) - Medford, WI - July 3, 2023
The pay is good and so are most of my coworkers, but thats about it. I've had better benefits, and vacation time is paid out at the beginning of the year, which kills your paycheck if you need days off. No one cares, even the managment. There's no incentive to even do your job, because there's no consequences if you just wander around doing nothing all day. So be prepared to do the job you're hired for, plus another 12....and be expected to maintain production quotas.

Forklift Operator (Former Employee) - Aberdeen, WA - May 30, 2023
Mismanaged, unsafe! This place is takes advantage of employees and gives no real training. If you get injured they will do everything to keep you from getting the medical care needed! They can’t keep or find good help because it’s such a terrible place to work!

Good opportunities available
Laborer (Current Employee) - Lincoln, CA - May 13, 2023
Much depends on the work you are willing to put in. Not the perfect place to work, as some have noted, but not the worst either. You will thrive if you are self motivated and a hard worker. Hard work always wins out. The opportunity to advance and grow is always present, but you have to be willing to invest great effort and time.

Very high work load without much compensation
Electrician (Former Employee) - Aberdeen, WA - May 6, 2023
Management is terrible and does not care about your home life or making your job enjoyable. you will be worked to death before they just let you go and bring in the next guy. Stress will be at an all time high. Not a good place to work at all.
Pros
none
Cons
management, vacation, work load, work life balance.

Management
Chain Puller (Former Employee) - Oroville, CA - May 3, 2023
From top to bottom Oroville SPI upper management (chain of command) are horrible when it comes to equality. They lack heavily on leadership qualities and are NEVER involved with the employees. ONLY when Osha comes for inspection then they'll go around the employees and act fake . They also show a whole lot of favoritism to only those they feel they tolerate. It's just all bad all the way around. Very inconsiderate individuals
Cons
Management

High expectations with little reward or acknowledgement
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Red Bluff, CA - May 2, 2023
SPI is a good place to work if all you care about is the money. There is lots of (mandatory) overtime and the hourly rate is really good for an entry-level job. But there is no work-life balance, and management has a "how dare you put your family before your job" kind of attitude. There are good managers who do the best they can, such as the one in my department, but their power is limited and they can only do so much to help you. Overall the culture is somewhat toxic and that won't be changing anytime soon. The redeeming quality, though, is that the co-workers are a good group of people. I have made some lifelong friends here.
Pros
Good pay, overtime (if you want it)
Cons
Toxic management, overtime (if you don't want it), little work-life balance

Place sucks and upper management is horrible but it's a decent paying job
Production (Current Employee) - Quincy, CA - April 24, 2023
They are understaffed and make you work more hours to make up for staff shortage, they don't take care of you if you get hurt and you end up with bills that were supposed to get covered by workmans comp. They have bad equipment and expect to you to perform safely They don't care for you at all its a horrible place to work for its a concentration camp feeling
Pros
Good pay and steady work
Cons
No life

Sierra is a good place if you are comfortable in a manufacturing setting.
CNC Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Medford, WI - April 13, 2023
Sierra bought an existing window and door manufacturing facility in our area. I was employed at that company prior to their aquisition, and subsequently transitioned into Sierra. Just like any other place of work, there were at times some toxic elements between staff and lower managers. Due to the inclusion Sierra offers, they kept those managers and tried to retrain those who were at fault. With their acquisition Sierra improved working conditions, updated equipment, provided a reasonable wage and benefit package, and has been very active in the community.
Pros
Safety lunch every quarter for zero reported injuries
Cons
Mandatory Overtime

Works what you make it
Superintendent (Former Employee) - Medford, WI - March 23, 2023
Go to work with a positive attitude and you'll have a positive day. Of course there will be obstacles and challenges. How you react to those moments define your work day. If your a miserable person who doesn't like to work and complains alot....yup, your days gonna reflect that.
Pros
Starting pay, benefits, meet good people who want too get work done, shift options that can fit your schedule
Cons
Equipment isn't always best to get job done efficiently.
