This is a good company and provides services to homeless individuals and families. The pay for a non-profit is typical but the work environment is very good.

Given the opportunity to work in a unique and positive environment. Training was provided free of charge and establishing a schedule that fit my educational needs was flexible.

Simpson truly care about its employees and the people they serve. It's a great place to work, the staff is very knowledgable about all the community resources available to help those in need. The staff goes above and beyond without being asked to and without complaining.

Cozy environment working in a mansion in a residential neighborhood.
Family Support Advocate (Former Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNOctober 6, 2012
A typical day at work would be reviewing case notes from the previous day and pulling resources. I've learned different technics and management styles. Management styles are different but learnable. Simpsons hires people of all ethnic backgrounds and the age range varies. The hardest part of the job is getting emotionally connected with the participants. But the most enjoyable part of the job is seeing participants reach and accompplish their goals.
Pros
working at your own schedule to accomodate the participants.
Cons
being a small non profit and not getting the perks of a bigger agency and having staff recognition.
