Challenging job with ample room for personal/financial growth
Lead Residential Officer (Former Employee) –  Cedar Rapids, IAJuly 4, 2012
A job in corrections is both demanding and rewarding. You are challenged daily with various scenarios which demand strong nerves, the ability to focus on many things at once and the opportunity to help people move forward with their lives. You see the best and the worst in people and it is up to you to decide how you are to respond to each situation. With experience comes the ability to navigate serious concerns or situations and bring them to a successful resolution for all parties. In this way, you will grow professionally and personally and you will be rewarded knowing that you have helped someone to better their lives.
Pros
assisting people with their concerns and issues and help them successfully reenter society.
Cons
being unable to reach a person who is not able to help themselves.
