A typical day at work consist of examining assigned work order, researching parts availability and cost. search for any additional repairs needed, operational test, estimate time of repair, and tools and additional devices needed. prepare work order, update customer any changes to work order. clean and wash the vehicle to expose any hidden problems. assist other mechanics, check future work orders. the hardest part of the job is trying to account for man-hours and keep cost down. the most enjoyable is completing the job ahead of schedule and under budget, and fellowship with co-workers.
